Lego legends Dee & Ricky, recently seen ‘covering’ NWA on the NYC streets via Instagram, made a ‘Big Time’ impact in Berlin over the weekend with some more Pony collabs on display at Bread & Butter. Coming up for the second half of 2013 are four new revelations, split evenly between the Dee & Ricky x Pony M-100 that seems now to be their favorite silo, along with a new high cut hiking boot design. Describing them as ‘striped’ and ‘multicolored’, respectively, does them no justice, so click through to see more and stick with Sneaker News for updates ont these September drops.

Their upcoming efforts for 2013 stood out during the summer’s European tradeshow circuit, but the latest Dee & Ricky x Pony release is arriving right now without the slightest bit of hype. Releasing exclusively at Foot Locker’s European locations, the Dee & Ricky x Pony Topstar takes us back to that Blazer-Nizza-Pro Leather era of the ’70s when all basketball shoes seemed to have vulc soles and similarly spartan uppers. These add a playful vibe courtesy of multicolored ABCs and 123s on the white leather forefoot, while a waffle-knit rear gives you a visual sense of warmth you can grab from Foot Locker EU.

The latest round of Dee & Ricky designs for Pony are about to arrive at retailers, and today we have an extensive look at a classic basketball hightop they’ve helped to resurrect. The Dee & Ricky x Pony M-100 hearkens back to a simpler time, though the out-there colorups are far from traditional. One multicolored pair we showed you earlier has a ‘recycled’ feel but manages a look just as cohesive as heavily blue and red pairs done with what at first glance appears to be a more deliberate blocking pattern. Have a look at all three in greater detail below, let us know where these rank in a world where tons of classic b-ball kicks are being reissued and stick with Sneaker News for word on US availability.

Will New York twins Dee and Ricky turn out to be Pony’s answer to Jeremy Scott? We’ve seen what this wacky duo can do with the classic Slam Dunk silhouette as well as a couple of previews for later this year, but with their booth at Bread and Butter Berlin, this partnership makes serious strides heading into 2013. High-contrast is a key theme in this attention-grabbing set, and even with studded designs and kaleidoscopic colorways, this crazy collection sets a foundation with another customizable ‘felt board’ design, this time playing solo with the Pony check stripe instead of ABCs. Click through to see the whole set, let us know how these compare to other neck-turning lifestyle designs and stick with Sneaker News for release info. via HS

Staten Island wondertwins Dee & Ricky are known for their whimsical approach to fashion, so when the duo teamed up with Pony to release a couple of Slam Dunk collaborations, it wasn’t a huge shock that they offered the kind of high-contrast design that’s typically reserved for the bravest young fashionistos. A similar kind of patchwork appeal is in play with these new Dee & Ricky x Pony collabos, including two that look like they were cobbled together from spare parts from earlier releases. The rest are equally eye-catching, though arguably with more traditional colorblocking (including a couple white/black classics), and you can see the whole set of upcoming drops in images after the jump. via SDG

Custom sneaker design has evolved into something of a fine artform with the most popular trend of late, borrowing legendary colorways and applying them to new silhouettes. But what if you really want to stand out on your own; what can a sneakerhead do to establish themselves as an outlier in a world where obscure classics have become a part of the default curriculum? How about trying on something way outside the box, like these new Dee & Ricky x Pony Slam Dunk releases? High and lowtop pairs each offer their own crazy swag, the latter opting for a multicolor wild animal approach while the former allows you to deliver a text message to the world via your footwear felt board. Click through for more proof that these audacious designs are in fact real, and look to Packer Shoes as one of the few US shops that’ll have them in stock.

In the 2000′s, LEGO not only expanded its offerings to include monuments and Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, but also proved it could be co-opted to earn hipsters mainstream fame. It worked for the White Stripes and more recently for block-building jewlers Dee & Ricky, who’ve parlayed their trinkets into some substantial viral influence. The Dee & Ricky x Pony Slam Dunk keeps the whimsical childhood theme going with a felt board construction that allows you to apply custom letters to their black woolen uppers. Add in asymmetrical Pony stripes, multicolored eyelets and a neon leopard print lining, and you’re dealing with one of the most insane collaborative releases of this entire year, one most certainly befitting their designers. Check them out in greater detail after the jump and grab yours from Paris’ colette.
