Derek Jeter came ready to play on Saturday, smacking a single in the first inning for his 2,999th hit. The positive tension mounted thereafter, and in the third-inning, Jeter sealed the deal and officially became the 28th member of the exclusive 3,000-hit club when he launched a home-run over the left-field wall off of pitcher Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price. Jeter was wearing the Jordan Jeter Cut Cleat DJ3K during that moment, a special PE colorway introduced by Jordan Brand to commemorate Jeter’s historic achievement. The only other player to make a home-run his 3,000th hit was former Yankee Wade Boggs, who, coincidentally, played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays during his moment. Since taking the field in 1996, Derek Jeter’s career has been filled with spectacular moments, hinting at an apparent greatness that reflects the proud pedigree of Yankee pinstripes. Jeter has five World Series Championship rings to go alongside his 11 All-Star Game appearances, five Gold Glove awards, four Silver Slugger awards, and he’s about to add to that list of Hall-of-Fame lock achievements by smacking his 3,000th hit of his career. He’s just three hits away from reaching that milestone, and when he does inevitably reach that mark, he’ll be wearing some sick on-field gear courtesy of Jordan Brand.
The Jordan Brand DJ3K Collection features a ‘Defining Moments’ theme of Black and Metallic Gold, give to the Jordan Jeter Cut Cleat and special edition Jordan Brand batting gloves. The Cleats feature a number of personal details, like his High School and professional jersey number on the inner tongues of both shoes, a custom insole featuring a personal contract between he and his father, drafted before High School, and Jeter’s response to that contract – ‘I Agree’ – on the inner tongue label. Other items of this collection feature a special PE colorway of the Jordan Jeter Cut Trainer in a colorway commemorating Kalamazoo Central High School as well as two special 3,000-hit t-shirts in Yankee-derived colorways. Check out the entire collection below and be sure to tune into Yankee baseball to catch Derek Jeter against the Tampa Bay Rays as he strives to join one of the most exclusive clubs in professional sports, and check back with Sneaker News for possible release information.

If achieving the mythical 3000 hit milestone is like running a career-long marathon, Derek Jeter is sitting just a single lap around the track from immortality. But really, Jeter’s has been a Hall of Fame career path for many years now and this latest mark is just icing on the cake for one of the all time greats. Two new looks from his tenth Jordan Brand signature are on the way, and both Jordan Jeter Cut colorways look quite snazzy with their lenticular tongue tag. You can pick between black and tonal grey pairs when they hit retailers this June and July, respectively, and you’ll see more images when you click on the jump below.

Derek Jeter is just 38 hits from reaching the legendary 3,000-hit milestone, a career achievement that will be a nice cherry on top of what is already a Hall-of-Fame resume. Jordan Brand recently introduced the Jordan Jeter Cut, Derek Jeter’s tenth signature shoe, which features a rugged outsole design reminiscent of turf trainers from the mid-90s and tough upper materials for the normal wear and tear of fielding and baserunning drills, like carbon fiber composite and a breathable, perforated mesh panel. This tonal black colorway is accentuated by white markings on the Jordan Jeter logo on the tongue and Jumpman insignia on the heel as well. Finishline just got these in stock so take another look below and pick up Jeter’s latest kicks now.

Derek Jeter is about a third of the season short of reaching the 3,000-hit milestone, but when considering Derek’s winning nature and love of competition, he’s probably already thinking about the 4,000 mark. The man was ‘Winning’ before Sheen and his list of off-the-field conquests will make you curl up into a sad ball and weep for days (Mariah, Alba, Brewster, Scarlett, Biel, Tyra, Vida, and currently the Esquire-appointed sexiest woman alive Minka Kelly), but give the man his daps. Now in the tenth chapter of his relationship with Jordan Brand, Derek Jeter will be wearing the Jordan Jeter Cut X in cleat form. The off-the-field trainer version just dropped in a sweet White/Pitch Black-Metallic Silver colorway, so check out the detailed shots below and let us know if you think Jeter has what it takes to reach the 4,000-hit mark.

Long before CC Sabathia signed a contract as big as his on-mound presence, Derek Jeter was Jordan Brand’s main man in New York. The Yankee captain remains JB’s sole signature baseball player and today Sneaker News has our first look at the de-cleated version of his 2011 sneakers. The Jordan Jeter Cut manages an appropriate mix of Air Jordan aesthetics thanks to patent leather framing its side panels and toe plus faux carbon fiber on the outrigger, which bridges the gap into this crosstrainer’s most important performance element: superior lateral stability. It’s critical for Jeter to be able to move side to side as he continues to prowl a huge range at shortstop and now you can buy this white and Pitch Black pair from FinishLine.
