Up-and-coming footwear label Chiv Culture has been steadily gaining popularity and recognition with its great releases of their flagship Hamachi shoe. Their recent drops like the Tuxedo and Caramel displayed a uniqueness that is often tough to achieve these days, particularly in the Lifestyle footwear sector, and this latest special edition, like Jeter’s 3000th hit, is a home-run. The navy/white colorway of the Hamachi 3000 is a clear tribute to Derek Jeter’s milestone achievement, with added details located on the finely tuned upper construction. You might remember a younger Diggy Simmons from the MTV reality television program ‘Run’s House’, but he certainly has grown up since then. He’s got his hands dipped in the footwear game as the head of Chiv Culture, but that doesn’t mean he can deviate from his own route and rock a pair of Jordans. We’ve spotted him in True Blue IIIs before, but more recently, he was wearing the Air Jordan V Black/Metallic Silver while being a guest on 106 & Park. Describing it as ‘controversial’ might be pushing it, but for Diggy Simmons, who has his own footwear line and a father who’s name and icon is immediately attached with adidas, wearing Air Jordans might raise some eyebrows. But Jordans have been a fashion statement in the hip-hop community since the beginnings of the Air Jordan line, so there’s no brand disloyalty here. Diggy Simmons, who attended Tuesday’s Official XXL Freshman Live Concert, wore the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’ during a live performance in front of a raging crowd.
