The Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Dr. Doom” from 2006 wasn’t the most sought after of Foamposites when it hit, but it has since become a tough find thanks to the overall elevated status of the line in the past decade or so. Ending up even more elevated then would be this sample, which has a bit of overlap with that villain themed sneaker. Where it departs is in its contrast touches: the lace placket gets some extra white and so does the stitching on the tongue. It’s clear from the aliases he chose that the rapper best known as MF Doom is a big fan of pop fantasy works. Here we see another Jwdanklefs custom sneaker based on the prolific and mysterious emcee once accused of going rap game Andy Kaufman, sending an impostor on stage on his behalf. In the case of the ‘Dr. Doom’ Nike Air Max 1, we reach back through MF and Victor Vaughn to the original Marvel Doctor Victor von Doom character’s give a greener touch to spring’s ‘Atomic Teal’ colorway.
