While the Air Jordan 5 “Bel Air” was indeed one of the more colorful versions of that silhouette to ever release, the most colorful parts were a bit hidden. Giving those geometric pastel patterns from the lining a bit more shine is this El Cappy creation. This time around the upper is completely covered in that freshest of prints. Do you think that the sneaker in question would have been more received with such a loud color combination? Give us your thoughts down in the comments and then get in touch with El Cappy regarding any inquiries on getting your own pair of custom Jordans.

Remember that before there was ever talk of a “Red October” Air Yeezy 2, there was that Oreo looking black and white sample that leaked via some internal NSW catalog. As far as we can see those sneakers will never see the light of day, but that can’t stop customizers from mimicking the colorway. Case in point is this El Cappy creation, which slaps a black and white colorway across the upper and a speckle treatment along the midsole. Get a better idea of the custom color up with us after the break and tell us if you prefer these to the “Red October” version.

It is no great surprise that in the wake of the all red Nike Air Yeezy 2 reveal, we’ve seen several other sneakers adopt the ‘Red October’ look.  The latest model to don the bloody look is one of those shoes that itself has influenced plenty of imitators, the Air Jordan XI as customized by one Eric Lowry.  El Cappy’s latest custom has a slight Pantone lean to it with the drenched red patent leather and Cordura mix, but these skip the white midsole/clear outsole combo in favor of even more red.  Let us know how these compare to earlier Jordan XI customs, all-red designs and El Cappy’s own best work and stick with Sneaker News for the latest custom kicks.

Sneaker News last profiled an El Cappy Air Jordan custom job about three weeks ago, when he applied the soon-to-return ‘Grape’ AJ5 look to that silhouette’s sequel.  His latest sticks with the Air Jordan VI as a canvas, but instead of the previous season’s standout colorway, this theme is focused squarely on the end of the 1990-91 campaign.  This ’91 Champ’ custom celebrates a sequence of achievements starting with the regular season record that secured the Chicago Bulls home court advantage in the Eastern Conference with this highly detailed gilded design based on the first of His Airness’ six NBA Championship Rings.  Diamond tooling, Bulls logo embossing and Larry O’Brien lacelocks are just some of what you’ll see in more images below; leave a comment to let us know what you think of El Cappy’s latest spectacular move.
