Air Jordan VI ‘Cement’ Customs by El Cappy

It doesn’t even matter what the box says.  Next February’s Air Jordan IV Retro will remain forever tied to the ‘White Cement’ original thanks to the use of a black splatter print across the grey eyelet wing and midsole.  And speaking of cement colorways, here comes a new custom Air Jordan VI created by a guy who’s known for switching up classic palettes.  But El Cappy‘s ‘Cement’ AJ6 isn’t exactly what you might expect, as it bears no direct resemblance to any OG AJIII or IV, rather, appropriating the Three’s signature elephant print in something like an ‘Un-Motorsports’ application.  They certainly have the all-over cracked appeal to suggest urban decay, but could this custom creation have been even more cement-y with a grey base?  Click through to see more of this unique Air Jordan Legacy remix and let us know how they compare to El Cappy’s other color swaps and the variety of customs we showcase here on Sneaker News.

Air Jordan VI ‘True Blue’ Customs by El Cappy

Sneaker customizer El Cappy has been at the forefront of the movement applying popular colorways to new models, having gone as far as to apply LeBron 8 ‘South Beach’ and Zoom Kobe VI ‘All Star’ motifs to the Air Jordan VI and III, respectively.  His latest is another Six, this time borrowing from within the Air Jordan Legacy rather than one of today’s superstar ballers.  And with the unprecedented execution of Elephant print on the Air Jordan VI‘s angular midsole, this ‘True Blue’ custom might prove to be his best work yet.  You can see some more angles by clicking on the jump below, and let us know how this handcrafted colorup compares to the Varsity Red AJVI upon which they were built.  via PaintOrThread

Air Jordan III x Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘All-Star’ Customs by El Cappy

Nearly a decade and a half after the ‘Last Shot’, Michael Jordan remains the measuring stick against which all basketball greatness is compared.  And if anyone knows about being compared to His Airness, it’s Kobe Bryant, a guy whose GOAT resume we might have been examining during this entire lockout, had an unexpectedly early playoff exit not led the experts at ESPN to rank him as the 7th best active player.  And while the league is indeed stocked, perhaps like never before, few can hold a candle to the Black Mamba’s thirteen consecutive All-Star appearances.

The latter half of this run marked by Kobe’s move from adidas to Nike was bookended by an Air Jordan III and the Nike Zoom Kobe VI ‘All-Star’, and now sneaker customizer Eric Lowry has come through with a design that blends the two.  It’d be far too difficult to integrate Elephant print into the ZK6′s TPU snake-scaled uppers, so the more obvious route is to apply the Bred snake look to an AJIII as Lowry did on the ‘blank’ canvas afforded by the ‘Pure $’ pair released in all white.  Check them out in more images after the jump and let us know how the latest El Cappy Customz compare to their own and the best from the rest of the world of custom sneakers.  via PaintorThread
