As promised the Ewing 33 Hi will be indeed be making its way to some more retailers soon enough, with September 29th marked as the date that it will go down at 33 retailers across the country, that serendipitous number obviously lining up with the very model kicking off the Ewing Athletics return. The colorways in question will be the same two that dropped at the initial tri-state area spots, the red suede and the white based Knicks looking pair. You didn’t think Ewing Athletics was going to leave us hanging with just those two initial colorways for the newly retro’d Ewing 33 Hi did you? Also on the way are two more versions, again going with the similar approach of one caught up in the Knicks color scheme and one more doing its own thing. Also like the first two, the material selections are split down the middle, with suede for the former and leather for the latter, just like on the OG editions. Hit the jump with us to check out some new shots of the upcoming black/white and royal/orange colorways of the Ewing 33 Hi set to hit retailers in the coming weeks. In addition to the US drops of the first four Ewing 33 Hi’s, it has been confirmed that they will also indeed be hitting European retailers as well, so take a look and stay tuned for all the latest news and release info on the Ewing Athletics resurrection.

The Ewing Athletics label made one of the sickest comebacks in apparel history with the 33 Hi re-issue that went down just two weeks ago. Top that off with Patrick Ewing being in the building, and you have a) a release done right and b) a spot cemented in the Sneaker News Top 30 of the Year. Keeping the vintage Ewing vibes going is a look at a vintage Ewing Athletics hat in red suede (matching the OG red suedes) with a unique upgrade – the actual 33 Hi strap around the temple! Does this trend have potential to make a comeback? We’ll let you know if Ewing Athletics decides to bring back any of their vintage apparel, so in the meantime, let us know if you’d rock a ‘strapped’ snapback hat.

Last Friday, three high profile NY area shops raised the ante for the eagerly anticipated Ewing 33 Hi comeback by hosting Patrick Ewing in-store for the retro launch. In addition to Kith and West, we’ve gotta give a special tip of the hat to Packer Shoes, one of the few retailers that have been in business long enough to have actually stocked the original go-round of Ewing footwear. Along with the first two colorways available for purchase, Packer Shoes was decked out in Knicks regalia, from shirts to jerseys to fitteds, with one dedicated attendee even upping the bar with his Ewing haircut paying homage to the brand and man of the hour. The long awaited release of the Ewing 33 Hi is finally upon us, with the first two colorways of the sneaker making their way into some select spots in the NY/NJ area as of this morning. Of course we mentioned yesterday that the sneakers were set to drop at a staggered pace: 11am at Kith, 1pm at West and 4pm at Packer Shoes. Sure enough the schedule has coincided with that of Patrick Ewing himself, who has so far stopped by each for a meet and greet while this next wave of his sneaker legacy is launched for the public. The Ewing Athletics saga is ready for a reprisal as the Ewing 33 Hi, one of the most memorable original models of the Ewing Athletics brand, becomes officially released to the public tomorrow at select retailers in the New York City area. The buzz around the Ewings has been mounting ever since we were teased with the Ewing resurface earlier this year, but since then, the public has been treated to the perfect doses of nostalgia to lead up to tomorrow’s highly-anticipated release. Two colorways in the White ‘Knicks’ and the daring Red Suede colorway are poised for a retail return and both are likely to clear out quicker than Pat can break a sweat, so check out the full list of retailers that will be offering the 33 Hi’s tomorrow and don’t miss out on this historic release.
Also note that while we can’t officially confirm that there will be any special in-store appearances tomorrow, the shoes will go on sale at 11am at Kith, 1pm at West and 4pm at Packer Shoes, so we’ll let you guys do the math on that one.

New York native was definitely on the Ewing grind during the label’s original run, so there’s no doubt he was glad to ‘re-up’ on his Ewings. In fact, he just got his hands on the ‘Knicks’ colorway of the Ewing 33 Hi (set for a release on August 31st) with a matching vintage-inspired Ewing t-shirt, and you can bet he’ll be spotted in them sometime soon. It looks like the Ewing renaissance has officially spread throughout the celebrity crowd as we Pusha T rock the Red/Black and the ‘Knicks’ during his live performances last week, so we’ll let you know who’s got what until the official Ewing 33 Hi return goes down next Friday.

Sneaker News has kept you on pace with the return of Ewing Athletics since it made its first peep months ago. Today, we’re just one week away from what is surely one of the best sneaker comebacks in history, and although not much has been confirmed as to how long the Ewing line will be stretched (they’ve done an outstanding job at keeping us on the edge of our seats), there’s no doubt that the Ewing 33 Hi and Ewing Athletics as a whole has its rightful place in today’s sneaker scene.
