Hip-hop stars gathered at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom to celebrate the birthday of DJ Prostyle by performing live in front of a packed house of 3,500+ fans. The best ‘sneaker sighting’ of the night could go to Rev Run’s son Diggy, who wore the Air Jordan VI ‘DMP’. We’ve got a recap of Monday night’s festivities below so take a look and let us know which hip-hop act rocked the best kicks! Photos: AmPm New York

Plenty of sneakerheads out in Europe are no doubt relishing their latest chance to cop early, with the Nike LeBron 9 Elite ‘South Beach’ showing up across the pond before any of us stateside folks are able to lace them up. That is unless of course you are a platinum selling rap star with a long standing sneaker fetish and apparently plenty of connections out in Beaverton. Fabolous showed off his early footwork this weekend while rocking the stage, lacing up in this Nike LeBron 9 Elite that the rest of us won’t get a chance at until June. Click through for some extra angles and let us know if you’ll be slapping down the $250 when these hit retail. Photos:NT/Lisa Peezy

New York City can be photographically depicted in a number of ways. The Brooklyn Bridge, water fountains at publics parks, or watching the sunset from a South Bronx rooftop speak volumes of NYC culture, and for an upcoming music video for DJ Kay Slay, NYC-native Fabolous does just that – orating his verses with the looming NYC night behind him. For this occasion, Fabolous rocked a throwback New York Knicks varsity jacket and matched it with the Air Jordan IV ‘Cavs’; although nickname of the aforementioned upcoming Air Jordan Retro has been debated, let it be known that anything Blue and Orange is pure Knicks in the Big Apple. Will you cop these IVs? Stick with Sneaker News for more release info and we’ll keep you updated.

Fabolous has been on point with his Air Jordan game, keeping consistent with recent releases and even jumping the gun on a few. Recently, he laid out his ‘fits for upcoming events and outings, highlighting the Air Jordan XI Low White/Red, Air Jordan IV ‘Military’, and two Jordan Son of Mars colorways with matching apparel. You should’ve spotted ‘Loso’s Military IVs when he, along with Lil’ Wayne, Trey Songz, and a slew of other celebs partied it up with Stevie J last week, but we’ll keep you updated if he’s spotted with some other Jordan heat. Check out his Jordan line-up after the jump and let us know which catches your eye.

LIV nightclub was the place to be in Miami over the past weekend as a number of hip-hop megastars collided to perform live for legendary Bad Boy producer DJ Stevie J’s birthday. At the event was Lil’ Wayne, Fabolous, Trey Songz, Wiz Khalifa, Ne-Yo, Dr. Dre, Birdman, and many more, but the focus of this feature is on the first three, who caught our attention with their not-yet-released Air Jordans. Lil’ Wayne kicked things off with the Air Jordan XII ‘Playoff’ (releasing in April), followed by Fabolous and his Air Jordan IV ‘Military’ (a June release). Trey Songz kept things a bit more current with the Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Bordeaux’, which will hit stores this Saturday.
