Hip-hop veteran Fabolous has been synonymous with the Air Jordan V of late, first showing up in the Quai 54 edition that released at Paris’ House of Hoops last weekend and more recently in the black Q54 pair that was limited to a 54-pair run. Regular Sneaker News readers will recall this isn’t the first time Fab showed favor to a particular model, as last year he was spotted on several occasions in 2010′s white and Varsity Red Air Jordan VI Retro. Whether he has a hundred pairs on ice or keeps coming back to the same kicks remains a mystery, but you can see in these new images that Fabolous is indeed enjoying the AJ6 steez once again this summer; which was his better look? The New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ was filled to the brim with today’s hottest and most relevant hip-hop celebrities, who performed at the annual HOT 97 concert event. All the headlining names brought out some sick heat, like Wale’s Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Retro’ and Nike Air Max LeBron VII ‘HWC’ PE, Fabolous’ Air Jordan III ‘Flip’, Wiz Khalifa’s Air Jordan VI Infrared, and many, many more. Swizz Beatz showed up wearing a new White/Red/Black colorway of his Reebok Kamikaze, but it was also interesting to note that Rick Ross, who has been consistent with his Nike/Jordan game, wore a pair of the Kamikazes as well. There were plenty of other great sneaker sightings, like the Air Jordan IV ‘Laser’ and ‘Cool Grey’, the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’, and Air Jordan 1 ‘BMP’, so take a nice look at all the celebs from the HOT 97 Summer Jam 2011 and let us know who rocked the best kicks!

At this point in the calendar year, Fabolous is running away with the title of Celebrity Sneakerhead of 2011. Sneaker News has spotted him in a number of great sneakers over the past few months, with the most recent outing being with the Air Jordan VII ‘Year of the Rabbit’. This time Fabolous’ connections have gone a little deeper because he was seen wearing the Air Jordan V Quai 54 – the all-new White and Radiant Green colorway of the Air Jordan V Retro that will release in conjunction with this year’s Jordan Brand Quai 54 Tournament. Fabolous was spotted with these new Jordans when he attended the VEVO GO show taping late last week. After making a splash this weekend at a select number of retailers in the US and across the globe, the Air Jordan VII ‘Year of the Rabbit’ was found on the feet of rapper Fabolous as he attended a “fuse Rocks the Classroom” taping at fuse studios in New York City. The Air Jordan VII ‘Year of the Rabbit’ was arguably one of the most anticipated releases of the year from Jordan heads and it definitely shows as pairs are now double the retail price if not more on online retailers. And while Fab is known for getting his Jordan’s earlier than most it seems that even he may have had to wait until the release date to get his pair of ‘Year of the Rabbit’ Jordan VII’s. Fabolous arrived at the 2011 BET Rip the Runway event in New York City wearing a fresh pair of Air Jordan XIII ‘Premio’s’ from the Air Jordan Bin 23 Collection. While the Air Jordan XIII ‘Premio’ was released last August in the U.S., Fab’s pair looked to be fresh out of the box when he was seen wearing them on the red carpet at the Manhattan Center for the show where he performed a couple of songs. It also appeared that Loso wanted to make sure his Jordan’s stayed fresh as he opted for a pair of Gucci sneakers for his actual performance during the Rip the Runway show. Fabolous along with Ryan Leslie, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Rosa Acosta, Amber Rose, and a number of other celebrities and tastemakers attended this past weekend’s Heineken Inspire Event which was held in Culver City, California – located right outside of Los Angeles. Fabolous, who has been seen wearing a number of recent Air Jordan Retros before their release dates kept it moving with a pair of Air Jordan IX Retro’s in Black and Charcoal, a released scheduled for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 4th. Following the concert, the NYC native tweeted a picture of his Charcoal IX’s with his matching Louis Vuitton luggage when he was on his way back to New York.
