Foot Patrol has been pretty busy with their collabs ever since the English boutique got back on its feet. Next up from the team is a Saucony Shadow 6000 pair, one that pays tribute to their London neighborhood of Soho. The area has historically been a mix of film industry outposts, upscale shopping, and seedy sex shops. These days the last of those have been mostly cleared out, but that seems to be sector most referenced in the upcoming collab. Continue reading to check out a teaser video and stick with us for more information on the Foot Patrol x Saucony Shadow 6000 “Only in Soho.

It’s a little ironic isn’t it, that these foreign born collabo Asics pairs end up being a little bit more wider spread in the states than those cooked up on these shores (with Ronnie Fieg being the only American in recent memory to get his hands on the classics catalog). As promised, the above pictured Foot Patrol x Asics Gel Saga II will indeed be making its way into the world beyond the doors of that UK shop, with a good number of American shops hosting the release this Saturday, October 13th. Click through with us for additional images of the Foot Patrol x Asics Gel Saga II as well as a complete list of US retailers.

It turns out that bit of branding embossed on the side of the upcoming Foot Patrol x Asics Gel Saga isn’t the only place the London shop has left their mark, with the back end also sporting a hit of their gas mask emblem in the same ocean blue tone hugging the side swooping lines and the laces. These new pics also reveal a definite gum sole on bottom, coming in pretty close to the wheat colored suede up top to unify the design a little bit. Click through with us for a 360 look at the Foot Patrol x Asics Gel Saga release and let us know in the comments if you’re hoping to get your hands on a pair.

Things have been just a little quiet on the Asics collabo scene for the past month or so, with the killer inline stuff taking over as the summer cools down. Fortunately sparking things back up is this upcoming creation from the likes of London institution Foot Patrol, a release which we got our first glimpse of back in June. The extra angle on display here gives us a better view of the branding included, with Foot Patrol stamping their name on the back end sort of in the same vein as that Woei pair of Gel Lyte III’s. Stay with us after the jump for the full shot and keep in mind that the Foot Patrol x Asics Gel Saga should be hitting premium Asics accounts soon.

NIKE COLLABORATIONS WEEK
A little history on the shoe before we get on to the collaboration: the Nike Air Stability (or Stab, for short), was the first Air Max shoe to release after the Air Max 1 launched in 1987. Noted for the unique Air window in which the visibility was creatively blocked with two ‘icicles’ coming down from the top of the midsole, the Air Stability of 1988 didn’t see much action after its initial release as Nike was quickly evolving the Air Max line with newer models featured larger Air Max units. In 2005, Nike re-delivered the Air Stab to the masses (a strange tidbit of info – some boxtags labeled the shoe as ‘Stabb’ rather than ‘Stab’), but it didn’t quite as much steam until UK’s Foot Patrol was called on to re-energize the silhouette.
The Foot Patrol x Nike Air Stab was released in December of 2005 as an in-store exclusive to Foot Patrol in the UK; as they’ve done with previous releases, the Foot Patrol staff went the extra mile to reward its customers, offering English tea in Foot Patrol Stab mugs served by a gorgeous main in a scantily clad uniform. The shoe itself was designed in-house by Foot Patrol, opting for a crisp and clean colorway at the core rather than imposing with a funky gimmick as most sneaker collaborations of the 2005-2007 era had. In the end, the Stabs came out wonderfully and Nike put out plenty of Stab releases in the following years and even launched the shoe on Nike iD. It was a ‘Retro’ done right highlighted by a partnership with one of the best in the game, so check below for more of today’s Classics Revisited and stay tuned for one more big-name collab tomorrow!
