We’re pretty sure that he didn’t do away with the rest of his collection, but it looks like Gilbert Arenas had to go through that sort of agonizing packing for his recent move out to China. Kawhi Leonard was recently crowned by Sneaker News as the NBA Feet Rookie of the Year, as he spent the entire season with the Spurs honing his craft at the direction of some of the best of our generation while keeping things stylish on his feet. He has consistently foregone the basic team-based shoe and opted for snazzier Black/White/Grey kicks like the Air Jordan XIV ‘Light Graphite’ and the Nike Zoom Rookie LWP, and he certainly helped the Spurs sweep the Jazz last night while wearing the Air Jordan V ‘Wolf Grey’. However impressive that may be, that NBA Feet crown of the night doesn’t go to him, as 2011 NBA Feet MVP and All-NBA Feet First Team 2012 member Gilbert Arenas wore the Air Jordan IV ‘Lightning’ (despite getting just five minutes of PT). Finishing off another solid week of NBA Feet is a recap of Wednesday and Thursday games, which featured plenty of Air Jordans, Player Exclusives, and Nike Retro Basketball kicks. Gilbert Arenas made his first appearance with the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’, while teammate Rudy Gay took the court with the Nike Air Max Tempo. Dwyane Wade rocked a Black/Red PE of the Jordan Fly Wade 2, while Kevin Durant led the Thunder wearing the Nike N7 Zoom KD IV in the Home colorway. Looks like we’ve got a tight battle for best kicks of the last two nights! Monta Ellis went on repeat mode, but kept it fiery with the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’, but up-and-comer Delonte West caught our attention by wearing the Nike Air Flight One in the ‘Orlando’ colorway. Kendrick Perkins’ Air Jordan X ‘Chicago’ deserves some attention, as does Gilbert Arenas’ back-to-back Air Jordan showing of the Old Royal X and the Air Jordan IX ‘For The Love Of The Game’. A blue-based jersey seems to follow Gilbert wherever he lands, but that’s only good news because we know what he’s capable of putting out when rocking those colors! Yes, he’s back, and it only took him two games to reclaim his rightful position as the sneaker king of the NBA. After being picked up by the Memphis Grizzlies, Gilbert Arenas whipped out some sexy sneakers – the unreleased Nike Zoom Huarache TR Mid ‘Playstation’ that was part of the ‘Playstation Move’ Pack. Since his uneventful departure from the NBA, it took Arenas quite some time to return to the court, although he did garner some interest from title-contending teams like the Los Angeles Lakers. Instead, he joins the Memphis Grizzlies, a team very much in the Playoff race that would love a boost on offense – and who better than one a player who considered one of the most feared scorers in his prime? He clearly has some rust to shake off, but his addition should help the Memphis cause while giving sneaker fans an incredible and long-awaited show! Of course, all credit goes to Amare Stoudemire for making the Zoom Huarache TR Mid a cult hit on the NBA floor with his sick Player Exclusives, but Gilbert’s TR Mid’s aren’t shabby at all! via ESPN

The ‘other’ NBA season continued down in Florida when Dwight Howard hosted the D12 Foundation Celebrity All-Star Game at the the University of Central Florida. This game featured a bit of a twist; the two teams were divided up into New School and Old School, with the former consisting of current NBA players and the latter featuring former NBA stars like Penny Hardaway and Steve Francis. The kicks spotted on court had a heavy ‘Air Penny’ theme, as Penny himself wore the Nike Zoom Rookie ‘Memphis Blues’ during warm-ups and switched up to the all-white Foamposite One 1-of-1 PEs for the game. Other notables included Lil’ Wayne’s Binary Blue Zoom Rookies (he coached the ‘New School’ squad) and Earl Clark’s Glow In The Darks, Gilbert Arenas’ Air Jordan VI ‘Orlando’ Customs, Steve Franchise’s Air Jordan 8.0, Quentin Richardson’s Air Jordan XI ‘DMP’, and Dwight Howard’s adiPower Howard. Just one series remains open, as the Lakers, Mavericks, Thunder, Heat, and Hawks, join the Bulls and Celtics in the second round of the 2011 NBA Playoffs. We got a look at some more great sneakers on court, starting with Gilbert Arenas’ Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ (the second pair of XIs he wore during the series).
