After wearing both the Air Jordan XIII ‘Flint’ and Air Jordan IV ’25th Anniversary’ on Tuesday night, Gilbert Arenas followed up his double-Jordan outing with the Air Jordan VII ‘Chambray’ against the Charlotte Bobcats. The Chambray VII released in 2006 alongside the OG Cardinal version as well as four other all-new colorways. The Chambray VII combines Black with Light Graphite and Chambray, which can be best described as a light, baby blue tone. Not a perfect match for Orlando’s Royal Blue uniform, but that never deterred Gil from wearing whatever he wants! Luck was definitely on our side the past couple of nights because we got a look at some great sneakers around the league. Starting off with last night’s games, the New York Knicks had more than luck (try a team record 20 3-pointers) as they took down the Grizzlies in fashion. Carmelo Anthony wore the Jordan Melo M7 St. Patrick’s Day PE while teammate Ronny Turiaf wore the Zoom Kobe VI ‘Rice’ and Amare Stoudemire wore a green/orange PE of the Zoom Huarache TR Mid. Other notables included Derrick Rose’s adidas adiRose 1.5 in green/white, plenty of Nike iDs in the form of Zoom Huarache 2k4s and Zoom Uptempo V. However, amidst all the St. Patty’s Day PEs and personalized iD colorways, Jordan Retros always garner the most attention, like Courtney Lee’s Air Jordan III White/Cement, Gilbert Arenas’ Air Jordan V Black/University Blue, Ray Allen’s Premio IX, and Juwan Howard’s Fire Red AJV. Last night’s NBA action was filled to the brim with new faces in new places, game-winning jumpers and raging come-backs. Starting off in New England, Rajon Rondo wore the White/Green colorway of the Nike Air Max 360 BB Low and new teammate Carlos Arroyo borrowed a pair from Rondo’s stash by wearing a tonal-green Zoom Hyperfuse Low. Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe wore Air Max Fly By PEs against their Celtic opponents. A match-up between two surging teams – the Knicks and Grizzlies – featured Amare Stoudemire and his Huarache TR Mid PEs once again, but was highlighted by Carmelo’s Melo M7 (no Knicks colorway yet?). Michael Beasley, an adidas athlete, brought out some older gems by wearing the adidas KG Bounce. Gilbert Arenas gave a shout-out of sorts to his former partner in crime by wearing John Wall’s Reebok Zig Slash.
