Gourmet Spring/Summer 2013 Preview

gourmet spring summer 2013 preview Gourmet Spring/Summer 2013 Preview

Starting in early May with their quickly concocted ‘Brooklyn Nets’ 22L, Gourmet has made it clear this summer that they’re ready to expand what is already a well-defined niche within the lifestyle sneaker market.  We’re seeing more noteworthy new releases now that they’ve mastered patterned suedes and other textures, and now we see not only new patterns but whole new silhouettes for the early 2013 collection.  It makes sense, then, that as the brand grows, their branding is becoming more prominent on models like the as yet unnamed bred runner whose ‘GOURMET’ side panel script is the most direct advertisement we’ve seen in this company’s half-decade in business.  They’ll be around for another five-plus with solid output like the woodland camo Gourmet Quadici you’ll see along with more previews after the jump, so click through for more photos and stick with Sneaker News for US release info.  via HB

Gourmet “Camouflage” Pack – Fall/Winter 2012

gourmet camouflage pack fall winter 2012 1 Gourmet Camouflage Pack Fall/Winter 2012

Gourmet’s leopard print ‘Hotpack’ proved the brand’s all-over prints can stand with the best of them, but then again, we already knew that.  It was nearly a year ago that the first camouflage-enhanced suede Uno arrived at retailers, and now we see the success translated to a variety of additional silhouettes.  The Gourmet Quattro S returns with a black suede mudguard in place of last year’s black leather, and will be joined by the Dieci, Dignan and Quadici.  That last trio is listed in order from least to greatest amount of solid-colored contrast, a list that the latest Sedici tops with an olive upper and just a hint of concealment on the heel counter.  Click through for photos of all five, let us know which looks best and stick with Sneaker News for release info.  Photos: Dunk

Gourmet Quadici – Spring 2012

February 25th, 2012 by | No comments

gourmet quadici spr 2012 5 Gourmet Quadici Spring 2012

We saw Beaverton get into the duckboot syled sneaker game pretty heavy last year, but some would argue that Gourmet’s Quadici sneaker has doing a superior job of holding down that lane. Staying truer to the hunter styling up top, it only slips towards the sneaker side of things on the bottom half thanks to the miniature o-zone running along the soles. Available now are four new colorways from the Spring 2012 collection, which keep it unified material-wise but manage to cover a good range as far as colors go. The classic burnt brown look is intact on the first few, where the latter half opts for more lifestyle looks with a cloudy grey and some nice plum tones, respecitively. Follow us after the jump to check out the full shots, and hit up their online spot if you’re ready to gobble up Gourmet’s latest Quadici releases.

Primitive x Gourmet Quadici – Available

primitive gourmet quadici space jam 3 570x380 Primitive x Gourmet Quadici Available

We hesitate to call them true sneakerheads, but there were indeed some dudes who got so excited about the Air Jordan XI Retro ‘Space Jam’ release a couple years back that they mangled a couple of storefronts where the coveted kicks were kept.  Here’s hoping Paul Rodriguez’ Primitive doesn’t suffer a similar fate to one of its two locations upon the release of this collaboration with Gourmet, a drop that’s both an homage to His Airness and a nod to the origins of the now well-established lifestyle brand.  The Primitive x Gourmet Quadici ‘Space Jam’ comes with a black patent leather mudguard that, while not exactly practical in the kind of conditions where duck boots traditionally prove useful, most definitely signals that it’s inspired by 2009′s biggest hit not named ‘Air Yeezy’.  Check these out after the jump, let us know what you think of this ‘Space Jam’-imitating release over two years after the XIs dropped in that style (remember all the other similar looks in late ’09/early ’10?) and grab yours straight from Primitive.

Gourmet Fall/Winter 2012 Footwear Preview

gourmet fall winter 2012 11 570x379 Gourmet Fall/Winter 2012 Footwear Preview

Though it’d be a wild inaccuracy to call them the ‘American BAPE’, Gourmet is indeed similar to Nigo’s groundbreaking Japanese streetwear concern in that they’ve both taken some heat over the years for the extent to which their designs are original.  And yet, both brands soldier on with great success while waiting for you to recognize the beat of their rapid-sampling drumkit.  Coming up for the fall/winter 2012 season, we see models like the Gourmet Quadici take on the camouflage look that’s served BAPE so well over the years, but even if the wildly inventive Dignan (pictured above) has a similar concealment pattern doesn’t mean there’s anything else in the industry quite like it as of this writing.  Add in the new Gaetano trail boot and you’ve got a well-rounded preview with more pairs to follow as we approach the second half drop, so click through to see them all and stick with Sneaker News for  updates.  via EUkicks

Gourmet Spring 2012 Footwear

gourmet spring12 lb tredici 1 Gourmet Spring 2012 Footwear

Gourmet is arguably the most successful of the lifestyle sneaker lines launched after the turn of the century, and their lineup continues to grow and evolve to better reflect the brand’s label with each passing season.  The spring 2012 lineup brings back plenty of familiar faces while adding a couple new jams, and we’ll start with a couple pairs that we previewed a short while back.  The Gourmet Sedici sees its camo suede design contrasted by another pair done in the same vegtan leather that makes up its heel.  That same monochromatic luxury is echoed on red and blue suede Sedici Lows, which makes this chukka-inspired family the leader of the Q1 pack.  Sedicis lead the way in terms of numbers, but it might be the ‘Space Jam’-leaning Quadici collaboration with Paul Rodriguez’ Primitive that draws the most attention overall.  Click through for more including appearances by the Quattro S, Dieci, Dignan and The 28, as well as the all new 35 trainer and Tredici trail shoe.  Let us know which one wins this round and expect them at Gourmet‘s e-store shortly.

Gourmet Quadici L – Grey – White

gourmet quadici grey 1 Gourmet Quadici L Grey White

It wouldn’t be too terribly hard to argue that Gourmet is the brand that best exemplifies today’s lifestyle sneaker market.  Initially heavily influenced by the Air Jordan Legacy, Gourmet has moved toward reinterpreting classic designs and they are really quite good at it.  The Gourmet Quadici shows how this brand has been ahead of the game with the duckboot look, their Air Max-style visible cushion a persistent reminder that while they indeed copied Nike, Inc. to get started, this brand and all the rest are reliant upon the growing volume of classic designs whose aesthetics and utility stand the test of time.  You can’t go wrong with grey and white, and this pair is available right now at End.
