Adding to the category of fabric laden sneakers is the new Gourmet Cinque 2 Mid LX. The sneaker just showed up for Spring 2013 in two clean colorways that mix in some nappa leather to along with the aforementioned yarned up fabric wrapping the upper. It’s hard to take a look at the zig-zaggy patterns without being reminded at least a little bit of Converse’ Missoni output, but those folks don’t exactly have a patent on angular prints so we’re not worried about that. Get with us after the jump to see some more of the Gourmet Cinque 2 Mid LX and pick up your pair from Kith right now.

Gourmet most recently graced the Sneaker News headlines with a Goyard print-enhanced black leather 22 hightop created for Jay-Z with the Brooklyn Nets new logo on the tongue. This is a brand, though, that’s largely been able to make their name soley on in-house designs like the impressive new spread coming up for the fall season. Gourmet continues to show us a superior understanding of the bigger picture of urban footwear, as they effortlessly blend familiar cues into new combinations that remind us some of those elements are standards in large part because of sheer repetition. Check out the entire set below including the unique ocelot spotted prints they had on display at New York’s Spotted Pig gastropub and stick with Sneaker News for release info. Photos: Defy

“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination.”
Ok, sneakerheads, you have 10 seconds to come up with a guess as to which sneaker brand posted this as a part of a recent collaboration. Time’s up; and no, we’re sorry, but the answer is not ‘A Bathing Ape’. Instead, this message comes from an American-born brand that utilizes a process similar to BAPE’s to come up with their sneaker simulacra: Gourmet. And since we’re talking about a brand named after fine foods that borrows its design cues from other prominent labels, what better an establishment with whom to collaborate than a Korean burger shop that has been compared to Fatburger? The only way to improve upon that tightly-knit concept is to find inspiration in yet another California cow sammich distributor: In-N-Out Burger. So if you happen to be in South Korea and need a new pair of kicks, hold the lettuce, check out the Gourmet x Thunder Burger pop-up shop in Soeul, images of which can be seen when you click on the jump below. via SxH

The Gourmet Quattro does a great job of bridging the brand’s Air Jordan-inspired beginnings with their status as growing into one of the more pleasing lifestyle sneaker catalogs in the industry. And just like Nike before them branching out into the skate market with the classic Dunk basketball silhouette, Gourmet has been able to translate the AJXII-derived Quattro hightop into a skate model. This sleight of foot has also transformed the silhouette sufficiently that the Quattro Skate now borrows even more like the Twelve’s signature mudguard panels, mutating this asymmetrical look into a well-placed ollie protection area. Two new tonal suede and tumbled leather pairs have added translucent outsoles and await your click on the jump below, so have a better look at red and brown pairs and let us know which ones you prefer. via Dunk
