nike htm mark tinker 1 Business of Fashion Profiles Nike HTM

For the unfamiliar: HTM isn’t just a generic name for a special edition shoe, nor is it an abbreviation randomly associated with Flyknit releases. HTM stands for Hiroshi, Tinker, and Mark-a design collective at Nike that’s long been the source of some of their most interesting projects. Giving a rare, behind the scenes look at that legendary team up is this new piece from Business of Fashion, which heads out to the Nike campus in Beaverton, OR to talk with the T and the M of the trio. Continue reading to see some scenes from the meetup and then get the full Nike HTM piece at Business of Fashion.

It appears that the fragment design x Nike Lunar Force 1 is indeed on the way. The pair is one that oughta look familiar for anyone who is deep in the Air Force 1 game, as the crocodile leather across the upper is immediately reminiscent of the previous pairs that fragment frontman Hiroshi Fujiwara had his hands in. Get a better preview of the Nike Lunar Force 1 in question just after the jump and make sure you keep it locked on Sneaker News to find out when and where you’ll be able to purchase them for yourself.

F.C.R.B. x Nike Solar Soft Sandal

Hirofumi Kiyonaga’s Uniform Experiment partnership with Hiroshi Fujiwara is a name that stands out compared to most US fashion concerns, but when viewed in the context of their latest effort, its most literal meaning suddenly makes total sense.  The SOPH. and fragment design founders created this project to literally tinker with the concepts that make up participatory clothing, even going so far as to fabricate a fictitious football club in 1999 as a vehicle for their creations.  FC Real Bristol reminds us that what we know about sports aesthetics is largely the result of continual reification, the ever so slightly ‘off’ typeface naming the ‘team’ on this new FCRB x Nike Solar Soft Sandal proof that starting with a different vantage point, established sporty aesthetics can lead you in an entirely different direction.  The navy/neon and black/grey editions arrive exclusively at SOPH. locations throughout Japan as well as Isetan Shinjuku on June 23rd, so click through for more images and let us know if you’ll be importing a pair or two.  via EC

A special Nike HTM Fly Knit Collection was previewed at a private event yesterday at 21 Mercer in New York City, where Hiroshi Fujiwara and Mark Parker, two-thirds of HTM, were on hand to discuss the new Fly Knit technology and how it aligns with the innovative legacy of the HTM Collection that began in 2002. On that table is an impressive spread of Fly Knit samples and materials like the Fly Knit Racer and a Fly Knit Trainer Mid, with some of HTM’s greatest works on display on the far wall. Hiroshi Fujiwara’s selections for his various Nike collaborations for 2011 have been anything but predictable. This year he started out on a tennis tear, with various fragment design flavored All Courts and the like hitting shelves. More recently his focus has shifted to the Nike ACG line, first with the Nike Air Magma Zip and now with the Nike Zoom Meriwether. The two pairs from the drop feature a nappy suede on top that replaces the typical outdoorsy looks for this hiker with a more street ready get up. Check out the detailed photos after the jump and grab them before they’re gone from SNS.

nike course ex 02 uniform experiment x Nike All Court Mid

Hiroshi Fujiwara and Hirofumi Kiyonaga came together as uniform experiment once again this May to issue two Nike All Court Mid collaborations in conjunction with the opening of a new Isetan location in Osaka.  Preview images first leaked depicting a dark denim model with a pixelated heel stripe, a look slightly modified to allow for a second pair featuring a star-printed upper.  It’s from that pair that the newest uniform experiment x Nike All Court Mid finds its jumping off point, this new pair opting for a traditional white polka dot instead of stars.  Click through to see more images of this model set to release when the Nike Course pop-up shop opens at Isetan Shinjuku from July 15th to 21st, and stick with Sneaker News for word on a possible US release date.  via EK
