Oklahoma City sneaker enthusiasts are finally getting treated to a regional exclusive tied in with their new-found leader Kevin Durant. That would be this very special box set for the Nike KD V, sporting a ‘V’ shape and a fancy sliding plexi-glass drawer, which two lucky fans will receive at today’s early launch of the sneaker going down at the local House of Hoops spot. Consider it a belated Black Friday treat from the good folks at Foot Locker, who have decided to bring back some of the more ‘Galaxy’ styles from this year at a couple House of Hoops spots. The Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 ‘Galaxy’ for one Blake Griffin will be up for grabs, as will the just released Nike Zoom Rookie ‘Galaxy’. The only trick is that you’ve gotta go to one of two locations (the Harlem and Beverly Center spots) to pick up a raffle ticket. After opening new doors in Buffalo, NY, House of Hoops travels to the West Coast as it prepares for another ribbon-cutting inside the Washington Square Mall in Tigard, OR. The Grand Opening event will be held this Saturday, April 21st, at 2:00 PM, with special guest Brandon Roy and hosts DJ Skee and DJ Nature. If you’re in the area, don’t forget to stop by!

The House of Hoops is slowly becoming the ‘Nation’ of Hoops, as Foot Locker’s basketball-centric retail spot will open its doors in Buffalo, NY. Opening inside the pre-existing Foot Locker location inside the Galleria Mall, House of Hoops will offer the basketball-craved Western New York region with exclusive releases in terms of Nike Basketball PEs, apparel, and of course, the occasional limited release. Check in at 2:00 PM EST this Saturday at One Walden Galleria for the opening of the HoH spot, but only after you sharpen your skills at the free basketball skills academy that will take place at 11:30 AM at St. Mary’s High School. At 2 PM, a special Grand Opening event will be held, with basketball stars Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings and Ticha Penicheiro, one of the pioneers of the WNBA and a Championship-winning twelve-year veteran of the Sacramento Monarchs. Charles Barkley was the face of the Nike Force during the 90′s, and what a fitting face it was. The foul-mouthed power forward with a penchant for low-post scoring, rebounding, and getting under the skin of oppoents rocked some of the fiercest looking kicks in Nike history, like the Nike Air Max2 CB ’94. It’s due up for a remastering in the form of the Nike Air Max Barkley (a Hyperfuse-uppered version of the CB ’94), but before we reach that point, check out this tonal varsity red colorway; it features rugged rip-stop nylon on the upper, with white contrast stitching along the synthetic leather giving an added level of military-style appeal.
