With its bold side panel ‘H’, the HUF Choice is the brand’s lowtop flagship. A shorter counterpart to the Hupper, Hufnagel’s choice just made a splash in collaboration with Diamond Supply Co. on a ‘Tiffany’ colorway. Today we see a much darker shade of teal employed not as an accent but as most of the design, as a new pair emerges in suede and canvas plus a Brick brownish-red leather heel. Judging by the amount of people you see wearing their logo caps and Plantlife socks, HUF made a good decision by redirecting its efforts from brick and mortar stores to distributing through other retailers. Keith Hufnagel’s namesake label was a San Francisco mainstay for the better part of a decade, and in their latest drop, we see a new style in tribute to the original location. The HUF Sutter debuts its derby lines with a couple hula print colors and one in the ever popular aforementioned leaf pattern. Familiar choices like the Choice, Pepper, Southern and more all get new colorways, so check them out below, then find yours at retailers including the e-store for HUF.

HUF and Diamond Supply Cp., two of the more prominent skate-focused apparel labels of our generation, came together for a sick collaboration of footwear and apparel, with the classic “Tiffany” theme running rampantly throughout the entire capsule. Along with tees, 5-panels, and other accessories, the HUF Choice skate-shoe was colored up in the signature Black/Aqua blue, with some sick details like a debossed croc-skin H logo, metallic emblems on the tongue and heel, and a brogue-like detailing on the heel. This is clearly a redux of the classic SB Dunk of 2005, but this is one reworked concept that’ll always have a welcome spot in the sneaker scene. The team at HUF has done a fine job fitting into the skate-sneaker world ever since they took it upon themselves to start banging out their own models rather than stick to the collab stuff. HUF has offered a series of photo tees celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012, but Keith Hufnagel’s hand-built brand keeps the visuals expectedly simple on their latest round of footwear releases. HUF’s FA12 lineup features a wide range of options, all of which are done in earthy and otherwise muted shades. Old favorites like the HUF 1 midtop are joined by new additions Cooper and Clarence, and you can see the whole thirty pair capsule in more photos below. HUF has been relatively quiet since their ‘glass sculpture’ collabo with Skate Mental made waves on April 20th, but that’s not just because they’ve been chilling, eating junk food for two weeks. To the contrary, Keith Hufnagel’s namesake label has prepared a summer 2012 collection that’s their largest footwear spread to date, clear evidence that the move away from vertical integration and toward wider distribution is indeed paying off. The HUF team made their initial mark in the footwear industry in the early half of the last decade, teaming up with Nike SB again and again to produce releases that had people lining up. These days they are moving independently, and have been building a deep collection that blends the line between skate and lifestyle sneakers. Their latest drop features a gang of low top models in the Huf Choice, Huf Morton, and Huf Tahoe. Each sneaker uses a soft suede supper, with the Choice and the Tahoe breaking it up a bit with some premium leather accenting. Their website URL has changed to reflect the fact that HUF is no longer a San Francisco staple, but rather, a globally distributed brand that continues to expand its footwear catalog despite the closure of three flagship locations. Proof that Keith Hufnagel’s label is moving forward with a head of steam can be found in this new collection of kicks for the holiday season and especially with the new HUF Coooper. This high/mid cut casual sneaker is the latest in a long line of oxford-leaning casual sneakers but the combination of premium waxed leather and crisp, simple branding prove that this company still has some heat on its fastball.
