Celebrities gathered over the weekend in Los Angeles to celebrate the highly anticipated release of Lil’ Wayne’s fourth studio album titled ‘Tha Carter IV’. Attending the event were some of the most notable names in the hip-hop and pop-culture scene, like Rick Ross, Drake, DJ Khaled, Tyga, Ronnie from Jersey Shoe, and many more. Air Jordans and sneakers have been considered ‘proper attire’ for events like these for quite a while, which is why we spotted some great kicks during the get-together, like the Air Jordan XI Cool Grey, the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’ and the Nike Dunk High ‘Osaka’. The Dunks were worn by Ronnie, who displayed an impressive rotation of sneakers during filming of Jersey Shore; the Dunk High ‘Osaka’ which dropped back in 2008, is quite rare in the states, and Flight Club could very well be where Ronnie picked ‘em up because a size 10 just got snatched up from there just two weeks ago. The Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’ has been a trending topic here on Sneaker News, as we now get a look at hip-hop star J. Cole wearing the 2010 Retro release during his appearance at the 2011 BET Awards Nominees Announcement event. Just yesterday we saw UK-based rapper Tinie Tempah wear the Black colorway from the Infrared Pack, and prior to that, we showed you the unreleased 2000 Sample version of the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’, which featured the scorching hot red pigment used on the majority of the midsole as well as on the Nike Air stitching on the heel. J. Cole’s no stranger to Air Jordans either, because we’ve seen him rock Jays plenty of times (the most recent being the Black/Cement III just two weeks ago). Check out j. It was a big night out for the celebrities last week, as P. Diddy, J. Cole, Ciara, and Amare Stoudemire were spotted at Webster Hall in New York City to attend the birthday bash for DJ Prostyle. There were many celebrities on hand, but these four deserve special notice for their notable sneakers, like Diddy’s Space Jams, Ciara and J. Cole and in Air Jordan IIIs, and Knicks All-Star Forward Amare Stoudemire in the Air Jordan XIII Playoffs. Drake and J. Cole performed at Le Zenith in Paris, France last night as a part of the ongoing Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour. On the last documented stop of the tour, Drake brought out a pair of the ‘Orion Blue’ VII’s, which are set to be released at the end of March, but in Paris, Drake decided to switch it up and wear a pair of the ‘Bordeaux’ Air Jordan VII’s – the storied colorway that MJ wore during the 1992 NBA All-Star Game. J. Cole might have “one upped” Drizzy by going back into his sneaker closet as he wore the Air Jordan VI’s from the 2006 Defining Moments Pack. Who rocked more heat? J. Cole, Nas, Cee Lo Green, Amber Rose, Tyson Beckford, Diplo, Pete Rock, and more were all in attendance at the Heineken Inspire Encore Event in New York City on Saturday night at Basketball City Pier. J.Cole whose newest mixtape, Friday Night Lights, has been the talk of the music blogs this weekend as well was seen wearing his Air Jordan XI DMP’s that we featured him wearing a last month. Nas was seen wearing a pair of all Black adidas Superstar’s to go with his plain Black tee. Get a better look at all of the performances and atmosphere of the event after the jump.

Not long ago up-and-coming hip-hop artist J. Cole was spotted with a pair of Air Jordan III CDPs during the EA Sports Triple Double Lounge Event. Over the weekend, J. Cole came out with a fresh pair of Jordans during the 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards, as Cole wore a crisp pair of the Air Jordan XI from the 2006 Defining Moments Package. Some may contest that J. Cole could’ve been wearing the Concords, but the traction pods on the bottom sole do look black instead of concord blue. J. J. Cole was one of the musical guests of honor during last night’s EA Sports Triple Double Event. He wowed to crowd with a live performance, during which he rocked a crisp pair of the Air Jordan III Retro from the Collezione Package of 2008. The Air Jordan 3/20 is arguably the most popular release of the Countdown Collection with many shelling out the $300+ just for the Retro IIIs. To match his footwear, J. Netherlands-based brewery Heineken hosted its Heineken Inspire event in New York City this past weekend at the St. John’s Center Studio, featuring celebrity guests DJ Wale, J.Cole, Rick Ross, and DJ D-Nice. This is the second time that Wale has attended and performed at a Heineken Inspire event – the first of such occurences being in Atlanta with Fabolous a few months ago. This time around Wale tweeted that “it’s only right…all my sneaker heads know” as he broke out a pair of crispy Nike SB Heineken Dunk Low’s during his performance. J.Cole showed up to the event wearing a pair of Nike 6.0 Oncore High’s, while Rick Ross featured a pair of the recently released Air Jordan II Retro’s in the original White, Black, and Varsity Red colorway.
