Iconic American clothing retailer J.Crew has earned its fair share of attention from Sneaker News in recent months thanks to a few outstanding sets of New Balance 1400s. But don’t forget that we previewed their upcoming collaboration with Nike Sportswear even before the first of those 1400s last July. The J.Crew x Nike Pre Montreal Racer VNTG applies just about the simplest colorway imaginable in the OG blocking pattern found on the other pairs NSW brought along for this spring’s resurrection. The last time we gave you an update on the J.Crew for New Balance collection, we had our fingers crossed that it wouldn’t be the last we’d see of this particular team up. Matching New Balance’s knack for superb yet unassuming classic runners with J.Crew’s ever popular brand of mainstream luxury seems like such an obvious fit, it’s almost hard to believe they haven’t been at it for years. NB is known for their long-enduring collabo collections created in conjunction with some of Japan’s best sneaker retailers and streetwear labels, so hopefully this round of J.Crew x New Balance 1400s turns out to be the second of many. Rich mocha and wine suede pairs join the six-pack that dropped earlier in the fall season, which means this capsule has now spanned a range of autumnal colors so complete, a second such set for spring/summer could make for a complete sneaker rotation all by itself. Click through to see more angles and grab these straight from J.Crew.
