With three of its signature athletes making up 30% of the 2012 NBA All-Star starters, Jordan Brand already had major presence during the fun-filled weekend. Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade all made their presence felt by making appearances in front of thousands of fans at Footaction for special in-store events hosted by DJ Khaled and Jadakiss, while participating in the Air Jordan 2012 ‘Flight Lab’, which featured a sick installation as well as an outdoor hooping area. A ton of celebrities also showed up in Orlando wearing some Air Jordans, like Jadakiss, who wore the Air Jordan III ‘True Blue’, J Cole, spotted in the Air Jordan III ‘White/Cement’, DJ Khaled, wearing the Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Knicks’ in Blue, Wale, hooping in the Air Jordan 2012 ‘Wolf Grey’, and T.I., who rocked the Air Jordan IV ‘White/Cement’. The last time Carmelo Anthony stopped by the House of Hoops in Harlem to unveil his new signature shoe, he was a member of another team. For the Jordan Melo M8, he’s home. On Tuesday night, the Foot Locker House of Hoops in Harlem, NY was host to the special launch event of Carmelo Anthony’s eighth signature shoe and first as a member of the New York Knicks. In an event co-hosted by fellow NY-er Jadakiss, the Melo M8 launch brought on a great crowd of local youth as well as big-time Knick fans who were on site to witness the next great New York-based superstar unveil the first Knicks signature sneaker in a long while. The World Basketball Festival Opening Night brought out a bunch of celebs who also call themselves basketball fans, as Spike Lee, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Anthony Anderson, DJ Clark Kent, and more showed up to join in on the WBF fun. Spike Lee wore a pair of the Nike Hyperdunk 2010, while Jadakiss wore the ‘Space Jam’ Air Force 1 Low. Anthony Anderson, who acted as a co-host of the night’s events, wore the Air Max 1 Omega Pack, while up-and-coming movie actor Columbus Short wore a clean pair of Blazer Mids. Stealing the celeb-feet show was DJ Clark Kent, who wore his 112 design of the Air Max LeBron VII. Sneaker News brought you exclusive photos of the Air Jordan Legacy Laser Collection at Atmos Harlem, but if you saw them in person, you mighta seen this fella as well. Veteran rapper Jadakiss was on hand at the ‘For the Love of the Game’ display opening yesterday, decked out in attire that suggests he knew why he was attending. Jada’s all-blue fit complimented the Air Jordan VII ‘Ceramic’ from 2006, a dope summertime design that looks just as fresh as when it was first released. Speaking of veteran rappers, Houston’s Bun B showed up in what seems to be his favorite sneaker of the last year or so, the Air Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’.
