Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Oregon Ducks’ Customs By Jason Negron

The University of Oregon has firmly embedded itself into the past, present, and future of Nike as a whole, as the founders of the Swoosh have risen from Duck roots and have established the world HQ just a couple of hours away from the UofO campus. The running and training heritage born from Bowerman and Knight has manifested itself in a ton of PE and special edition releases over the last few years, but we haven’t seen much on the Nike Sportswear side of things – until now.

Jason Negron’s next project was to transform the Nike Air Foamposite One into Duck form, using the Electrolimes as a base and dying the outsole a Oregon green while adding the ‘O’ logo on the heel and the Fighting Duck on the tongue, replacing the ’1-Cent’ logo. Negron clearly has a jump on these creative ideas (remember, before Spike got his Knicks Foams, Jason completed his own Knicks-styled Foam customs), so will we see a ‘Duckposite’ PE in the future? Continue reading for a detailed gallery below and let us know what you think of these customs, and if you want to commission your own pair, hit up Jason Negron directly through his Sole Swap Facebook page.

Foamposites have officially gone out of this world with February’s ‘Galaxy’ release, but before that was something else that was more fitting of the ‘space shoe’ concept – Jason Negron’s ‘Light-Up’ custom Foamposite Ones. We first showed you the sick customized Foamposites back in December, which featured the LED light-embedded translucent outsole, and the overwhelming positive response proved that there was indeed a ton of potential not just with Foamposites, but with custom sneakers as a while. Here we have a look at another Light-Up custom done by Jason Negron – this time on the recently released ‘Electrolime’ colorway; Negron went ahead and color-matched the fore-foot Swoosh and the 1-Cent logo on the heel to match to blue luminescence of the lights for the finishing touch that boosts these Foams to freakishly high levels of awesome. More images below, but you can go ahead and bid on this pair right now from bxwb84 on eBay.

If you’re a legit celebrity sneakerhead, chances are you’ve “got a guy.” After catching wind of Jason Negron’s Sole Swap Foamposite customs, rapper Joe Budden had his trusty sneaker procurer approach Jason about getting a few pairs done. The initial request was for a royal/orange ‘Knicks‘ pair and a pewter/green ‘Dr. Doom‘ version, and both were needed asap for some upcoming performances. Jason was able to scrape together the necessary component shoes and worked his magic doubletime to get them done in time. Once finished, the shoes were hand-delivered to Joe backstage at his show at Irving Plaza this past week. The Dr. Doom pair went straight onto Budden’s feet, as his head to toe gear was already assembled to match the kicks. Jason hung around breaking necks in a pair of his LED light-up Foam customs and snapped some pics of Joe in the Dr. Dooms, even a few with Joe doing some pre-show pushups. Check them out after the jump and let us know who wins the Jason Negron superhero celebrity sole swap battle between Joe Budden’s Dr. Dooms and Fabolous’s Spiderman edition.

Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Captain America vs. Dr. Doom’ Sole Swap Customs

In 2006, Nike released the Fantastic Four Pack, which consisted of the Nike Air Force 1 Low, Nike Air Max 95, Nike Air 90, and the Nike Dunk High. Taking on the heroic foursome was Victor von Doom, the leader of Latveria, in the form of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro. The ‘Doom Foams’, which actually command a pretty high price due to the current Foamposite craze, was the anomaly of the five Marvel Comics character-inspired releases, as the Black/White colorway really had no true bearing to Dr. Doom’s trademark metallic mask and green cloak. With the recently released Captain America movie and the upcoming Avengers film being the hottest comic-book related movies in the newsfeed at the moment, Foamposite sole-swapper extraordinaire Jason Negron performed his latest transplant, swapping ‘Cough Drop’ outsoles onto the Air Foamposite One ‘Royal’ and the Quickstrike ‘Electric Green’ Foamposite Ones onto the Metallic Pewters for that Captain America vs. Dr. Doom stance. Jason never ceases to amaze with his skilled handi-work and craftsmanship, so check out some more pics after the jump and let us know what you think. And if you want to get your own Foams swapped in similar manner, hit up Jason on his Facebook page.

Nike Air Griffey Max 1 Customs by Jason Negron

Jason Negron’s last custom project involved a ‘simple’ swap of the outsoles of his two Foamposite shoes. For his next endeavor, he dove in brush in hand on a pair of Air Griffey Max 1s to create his own personal take on the OG colorway of Ken Griffey Jr’s first signature shoe. In what could be called a ‘reverse’ of the soon-to-release Freshwater colorway, Jason applied the vibrant teal pigment on the primary upper panels, using black as an offsetting color on the upper and midsole. White laces match the ’24′ on the strap, swoosh (forefoot and heel), ‘NIKE’ insignia on the medial side of the strap, and on the ‘eyelids’ located above the visible Air windows on the midsole. Do you like these better than the OG colorway? Check out Jason Negron’s completed work after the jump and hit up his Facebook Page or through Packer Shoes to get in touch.

Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Ohio State’ – Sole Swap Customs by Jason Negron

Jason Negron’s “swapped sole” custom Foamposites have resulted in some interesting colorways thanks to the unique concepts that drive each of his projects. When he swapped the soles of the Nike Air 1/2 Cent in the Royal and Green Spark colorway, he had the Dallas Mavericks in mind. Then came the Cactus Green and Eggplant Foamposite Ones, which had a ‘Joker’-like colorway of Varsity Purple and light green. His most recent project involved the Pearl and the Cough Drops, which showed that a Pro/One inter-Foamposite swap could be done (after all, the outsoles are the same!). The Cough Drop Foamposite sole is the focus once again, as Negron uses the Ohio State Buckeyes and their trademark football helmets as the inspiration, taking the translucent red outsole and applying it to the Metallic Pewter Foamposite One. The final touch comes in the form of a lace-lock with the OSU school logo at the forefoot of the shoe. Check out the detailed images of Jason Negron’s latest swapped sole custom, and if you’ve got your own Foamposite mash-up idea that you’d like to see brought to reality, you can hit up Jason on his Facebook page or get in contact with him through Packer Shoes.

Nike Air 1/2 Cent – Varsity Royal x Green Spark – Swapped Sole Customs by Jason Negron

nike 12 cent swapped soles Nike Air 1/2 Cent – Varsity Royal x Green Spark – Swapped Sole Customs by Jason Negron

Back in September, we brought you a look at a very interesting new approach to sneaker customization. Rather than using paint or different additional materials to alter his kicks, customizer, Jason Negron, came up with a way to switch up the outsoles to give his creations a fresh new look. You’ve already seen what he did with the Air Foamposites, and now, we get a look at his latest sole-swap subject. Staying within the Penny/Posite family, this time around, Jason has applied his magic to the Nike Air 1/2 Cent, taking two different colorways and cris-crossing the soles to create a new visual identity for each pair.

The clear sole from the Varsity Royal edition of the 1/2 Cent was fused onto the Green Spark colorway, with the bright green sole from that pair ending up on the Royals to give both pairs a Dallas Mavericks sorta feel. You’ll notice that beyond just the sole trading, Jason also went the extra mile on these by switching the Swooshes as well, a move that helped bring in some matching accent colors as compliments to the new soles. Our readers have been keeping Jason busy with custom requests, but if you’ve got a concept for a similar switcharoo, you can contact him through Packer Shoes and maybe he can bring your vision to life. For now though, check out a bunch more pics after the jump.

Nike Air Foamposite – Pearl x Black – Red – Swapped Sole Customs by Jason Negron – Part 2

IMG 0161 3 Nike Air Foamposite – Pearl x Black Red – Swapped Sole Customs by Jason Negron Part 2

Last week, we showed you a look at sneakerhead Jason Negron’s innovative new take on the custom kicks game. Rather than painting shoes, Jason actually removes and switches the outsoles of some Nike classics to give birth to some fresh never-before-seen colorways. The Air Foamposite seems to be Jason’s weapon of choice as you’ve already seen with his Eggplant and Neon concoctions. Now we turn our attention to another set of mix and matched Air Foamposites. As you can see, Jason has taken the Pearl Foamposite Pro and the Black/Red Air Foamposite and swapped the soles to create two new versions that look like they could have (or maybe should have) come straight from Beaverton.

Unlike the set that we showed you last week, this switch-up presented a slightly bigger challenge being that the Foamposite Pro sports an alternate version of the original outsole. As you can see, Jason was up to the task and both pairs look amazing. Keep reading to see more pics of both and to get in touch with Jason about whipping something up for you, contact him through PackerShoes. We have been assured that there is more magic in the works, so stay tuned for more of these unique custom creations in the near future.
