Basquiat’s name is one that’s been on the tongue of even more streetwear types than usual as of late thanks to the swirling rumors that he’ll be paid tribute to in the upcoming season of Supreme gear. While we don’t have the word on that, we can confirm that the Reebok team is continuing to pay homage to the iconic NYC artists with various Pump silhouettes. Pictured here are the Reebok Pump Omni Lite and the Reebok Court Victory Pump, both outfitted with the frenetic art of the world’s most famous Neo-expressionist. Get a look at both right after the jump and pick up these new Basquiat x Reebok offerings now from the team at Extra Butter.

A capsule that existed with Reebok prior to the Swizz takeover was the Jean-Michel Basquiat collection – a tribute to the late NYC-based artist that garnered acclaim for his neo-expressionism and style. For this Holiday season, Reebok combines Basquiat’s work with the re-tooled Reebok Blast, using the artwork on the upper for an asymmetrical design. On the heel is an embroidery of Basquiat’s initials, as well as the signature stamp on the tongue. These are available right now at French retailer Snkrs so check ‘em out and let us know what you think.

It’s been a few months since we’ve seen new Reebok styles inspired by the work of New York Neo-expressionist Jean-Michel Basquiat, and this latest release takes the collection to new heights. We’ve never seen a higher cut silhouette from this capsule than the Basquiat x Reebok Chi-Kaze, a hybrid of Shawn Kemp’s Kamikaze with the legendary double-strapped Freestyle trainer that carries with it a supremely vibrant CMYK color scheme. If you can’t make bank off distributing other artists’ digital works, why not take a step back and utilize their signature styles for a physical product? Of course, that’s not exactly it went down for Swizz Beatz with MegaUpload, but there is indeed a connection between the DOJ’s post-SOPA takedowns and the Reebok Affili’art Collection. It wasn’t even a week ago that Neil Young was quoted as equating internet distribution with radio, and that kind of broader access to art is exactly what the Jean-Michel Basquiat x Reebok Pump Omni Lite and the rest of the posthumous collabo do for The Radiant Child’s notable works. There are two Omnis (three including the ‘Undiscovered Genius’ joints we showed you last week), one Top Down and a new Freestyle for ladies that make up the spring/summer 2012 set, and you can see all of them in more images after the jump before you grab them from select RBK retailers. via Provider

It’s essentially impossible to truly replicate the fullness of one of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s paintings on a sneaker design, so for their latest Affili’art release, Reebok goes in the complete opposite direction and focuses instead on small fraction of one standout piece. The latest Basquiat x Reebok Pump Omni Lite goes with a clean tonal black plus gold design that adds ‘UNDISCOVERED GENIUS’ script on the lateral heels as a tribute to 1983′s ‘Undiscovered Genius of the Mississippi Delta’. These certainly aren’t the most audacious of RBK’s Basquiat drops, but adding just a touch of the Radiant Child’s brilliance to this iconic silhouette makes for a welcome twist on the familiar. Look for these now at select Reebok retailers and check out some extra images after the jump in the meantime. via Provider

Collection curator and Reebok Creative Director Swizz Beatz has ensured that the Jean-Michel Basquiat tribu-laboration keeps going strong, and for the latest drop, we see a model that’s been absent in its original form since some of last year’s Basquiat releases. The Basquiat x Reebok Ventilator resurrects this classic runner in a couple of high contrast colorways that, the Neo-expressionist prodigy’s markings aside, remind us of this silo’s strong mid-’00s run that included what could be seen as one of the earliest Miami-inspired pastel looks from a trend that crested with the LeBron 8 ‘South Beach’. It’s not art deco at work here, but something just as distinctive, and both colorways are available now at RBK retailers like Millennium Shoes.

If you’re at all familiar with the late Jean-Michel Basquiat then you should shouldn’t be expecting anything ordinary from the Reebok collection inspired by his work. Indeed the pieces released so far have channeled the chaotic feelings that his art embodied, embracing the jagged lines and neo-expressionistic imagery. We’ve got the look at the latest from the collection, a second Reebok BB4600 this time with a stark black and yellow combination. Various piece of the sneaker pay homage to the fallen artist, with his birth year of 1960 scrawled on the back end and his ubiquitous crown logo stamped on the tongue. Follow us after the jump for the latest from the Basquiat x Reebok collection and hit up Allike to get yours.
