Complex pairing up and coming rapper ASAP Rocky with Jeremy Scott’s adidas Originals by Originals capsule was a natural fit not just because both bring a unique sensibility to their street-level craft, but also the ”Clothes get weirder/Money get longer” connection. Put simply, there’s nobody doing it like J.Scott in the sneaker game today, and he continues to kill it with the courageous fashion forward set. His latest Three Stripes collabo an evolution of a concept he’s executed several times before and one that might be his single most endearing effort to date. The Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Gorilla gives you not one but two different smiles (which look like they’re adjustable) along with four thumbs up, a shoe so cute and positive in its mood that they’ve got to be one of the most high-energy blackout colorways in history. Let us know what you think about these crazies and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US drop in the coming months. via Styles

The second most asked question about Jeremy Scott’s adidas Originals line behind “Where can I get those?” is probably “What is he thinking?”. Mind you that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just necessary by-product of his increasingly bizarre projects that have been pushing the limits of what a sneaker is allowed to look like. Well now you can finally know what he’s thinking, as Complex recently got together with the designer to chop it up on a range of topics, including his creative process. Head over there for the full feature and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for all your JS info.

adidas Originals has done a superb job of mixing heritage models with fresh new designs, and with so many to pick from now in both categories, it’s inevitable that some are deserving of more attention. One such recent debut is the adidas Originals Roundhouse, a sleek, strapped midtop that combines early ’90s basketball with a bit of the trainer vibe from that same era. We’ve only seen a handful of colors since it first dropped a couple years back, but Jeremy Scott has chosen to resurrect it for one of his most unique Originals by Originals releases yet. Not only is the Jeremy Scott Roundhouse Mid ‘Handcuff’ a more familiar colorway than he tends toward, but the addition of a chain and cuff on the heel is perhaps the craziest accessory addition he’s offered thus far. Is Jeremy Scott channeling The Boss with his latest lineup of adidas Originals silhouettes? Looking at the February 2012 releases for the ongoing collaborative collection there’s the denim pair and this flag bearing pair, the combo of which easily evokes a Bruce Springsteen aura. We’re not even going to pretend to understand what’s going on in Jeremy Scott’s head though, so it may be mere coincidence. Taking the upcoming patriotic colorway at face value works just as well, with the two halves of the pair repping opposite parts of Old Glory. We’ve had several previews from Jeremy Scott’s adidas Originals by Originals capsule for the latter half of 2012 thanks to photos emanating from the recently wrapped Bread & Butter Berlin tradeshow, and even with all the multicolored animal printing and tie-dyed fleece, J.Scott shows it’s possible to be just as ostentatious without a single ‘color’. The new Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Forum Hi is a far cry from the ‘Money’ midtop that helped make his mark in the sneaker scene, this black leather design adding four silver-buckled straps that match the detailing found on the newly-installed kickplate extension. This latest design makes it clear that Scott has a million and one different ways to alter familiar silhouettes, and that there’s more to 1980s basketball hightops than skate shoe conversions. Is Jeremy Scott a bigger draw for adidas than their biggest sports superstars like David Beckham or Derrick Rose? There’s no doubt that J.Scott’s adidas Originals by Originals releases are among the most eye-grabbing designs on the market today, and he’s taken embellishing sneaker silhouettes to a new level. Each of these three has its own type of special extra, be it the tail on the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Leopard, the removable mercury wings on the original JS Wings in denim, or the built-in kind you get from the JS Wings 2.0, pictured above in the new ‘Air Force Flag’ colorup. Built for the brave, these all have a take-it-or-leave-it appeal, kind of like the essence of the retailers that are now selling them like Chicago’s LDRS1354.

Nothing about Jeremy Scott’s adidas Originals by Originals is about blending into the background, so you might have already seen these in the distance when viewing some of our other previews from Bread & Butter Berlin. The Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Hiking Boot pictured above is easily the wildest take on this traditional trail design yet, a neon green macro croc patent leather explosion whose black sole and eyelets and pink-outlined purple branding make these look like part of a lasertag/paintball uniform. Along with J.Scott’s safari of an Instinct Hi, we have a growing body of evidence where Three Stripes’ most audacious guest designer has comfortably settled in at the leading edge of one of this year’s most notable trends. Let us know how these compare to the comparatively understated polka-dotted pair that hit retailers most recently, and stick with Sneaker News for more info. via Numelo

Bread and Butter Berlin is right in their backyard, so adidas Originals took the opportunity to unveil a variety of looks in store for the second half of this year at the biannual tradeshow. Key among Three Stripes efforts for the future, as has been the case for a few years running now, was the Jeremy Scott Originals by Originals capsule, which has managed to continue dropping jaws even after we’ve come to appreciate Scott’s mad science. His latest adidas Originals JS Wings 2.0 is cast in silver from head to toe, a mix of patent leather and what looks like a highly textured mesh, and adds unique details like reflective segments on the toe and a zippered tongue guard to separate these from all the previous colorways on this model. A unique take on a standout design, this kind of envelope pushing is at the very heart of this long-running collabo series, but where does it rank against the recognized greats like the recently retroed ‘Money’ Forums? Let us know when you have a closer look at these after the jump, and stick with Sneaker News for the exact release date this holiday season. via Numelo

Sneaker News’ most recent look into the future of Jeremy Scott’s adidas Originals by Originals capsule wasn’t clear like a crystal ball, but rather expressed a whole range of colors as if mimicking light passing through a prism. The same kind of over-the-top high-contrast design is at work here with the Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals Instinct Hi, a model that instead of opting for a license plate or some such other tongue embellishment, opts for a wide range of eye-catching colors, all set to the tune of a quartet of macro animal prints. J.Scott’s typically light years ahead of the curve when it comes to new trends, but this design for fall 2012 sees him put a twist on one of the year’s biggest trends; how does this style compare to the more traditional approach for animal looks including horsehair and the like? The winter tradeshow season is bringing us a look at what to expect from the major sneaker manufacturers during the second half of the year, and when it comes to Jeremy Scott’s adidas Originals by Originals capsule, we already know from the jump we’re getting something wacky. And while these might not capture attention in the same way that the upcoming ‘tie-dye’ JS Teddy Bear will with its ostentatious yellow build, this new Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Wings is indeed one of the bolder looks he’s dropped with Three Stripes. They’re vaguely reminiscent of the 2NE1 collabo, but the addition of bold black lines throughout their soft fleece uppers has these looking like a product tie-in for that new Jet Set Radio game for which fans have been waiting over a decade. But you won’t have to wait that long for these new JS Wings, as the preview at Bread & Butter Berlin suggests these are a fall 2012 release. Click through to see them from some other angles and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date. via Numelo
