ADIDAS CLASSICS WEEK
In just a short span of four years, the Jeremy Scott for adidas Originals series has managed to wedge itself some room in the crowded sneaker scene. It’s been established as the eccentric footwear option for those looking for some variation from their Foamposites and Air Jordans, offering crazy ideas like the ‘Teddy Bear’ and ‘Wings’, but where did it all start? For the final Classics Revisited of this week, we’re focusing on the first series collection of Jeremy Scott x adidas, which features the original JS Wings, Metro Attitude Hi, and Artillery Hi. The latter two were known for its gaudy colorways and materials and particularly the oversized Tre-Foil tongue, but its undeniably the Jeremy Scott Wings that set the collection to an uncharted plateau of footwear design concepts. The original Wings sprouted the Wings 2.0, a safari of stuffed-animal models, and a slew of other unconventional designs, paving the way for a generation-defining footwear line that has no signs of slowing down. Re-live the original Jeremy Scott for adidas Originals collection below and let us know what you think is in store for the future of the JS x adidas line!

There’s no better designer to ask to put a spin on a classic adidas silhouette than Jeremy Scott, whose bold Originals by Originals collaborations have been among the most ostentatious and polarizing in recent memory. His latest effort comes on the model most strongly associated with the Brand with the Three Stripes, a predictably bold take on the classic Shelltoe lowtop that reprises a theme of which we’ve seen a few examples since last year. The Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals Superstar 80s ‘Ripple’ applies polka dots atop a crinkled leather upper whose texture and material carries over to the iconic rubber bumper. Another style that proves 2012 is truly a year filled with ‘Golden Moments’, this JS Superstar 80s just touched its Trefoil-tractioned soles down at Caliroots.

Jeremy Scott has taught us that, yes, there are indeed limits to his own style, and in a case of if-it-ain’t-broke . . . we get a new design with winged embellishments along the lines of his breakthrough JS Wings. The Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals Butterfly Wedge (previously seen in a lower cut) ups the ante in a way that should only make owners of humongous gauze nets the slightest bit agitated, though you’re pretty well signing up to be pointed at all day when you select something this ostentatious. Have you the courage to showcase arguably the most outlandish boot we’ve ever seen from a major sneaker brand? Let us know after you’ve seen them from a few more angles, and stick with Sneaker News for US release info on this style that just dropped overseas.

Jeremy Scott is known for his embellished tongues and wings of all sorts, and with these distinctive design cues, has almost entirely skipped out on the zippered trend that’s been so hot lately. Scott’s latest adidas Originals by Originals release, then, represents a departure both in terms of style and construction, though you’re not going to make the mistake of assuming any other major brands’ collaborators are bold enough to try something like this. The Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Slim makes it even easier to get into the traditional penny loafer silo thanks to zippers running from tongue to toe, while a black-on-royal polka-dotted design is sure to turn heads just like all his other efforts. Let us know how these compare to the wildly multicolored JS Wings and Bears that also just released and find yours today at Three Stripes stockists like Kith.

For March’s ClimaCool Seduction debut, adidas released the ‘WE ALL RUN’ video wherein a variety of Three Stripes reppers were depicted running around the world at the same time. UTC plays a major role in this new ‘all Originals Represent’ clip, but this time, instead of a global time sync, we get to see what happens when different parts of the world collide under the Trefoil’s watchful eye. Stars including Jeremy Scott, Big Sean, Derrick Rose and 2NE1 (wearing their JS Wings, of course) all show up to represent their cities in this video set to Nicki Minaj‘s ‘Masquerade’, which you can see in full after the jump below. Let us know how this young and playful casual lean compares to Nike’s recent performance emphasis and stick with Sneaker News for all the latest.

The solution to a controversy regarding a tangential connection to a terrible theme? Design another shoe so peace-loving and adorable they’re bound to make half of the sneakerhead audience cringe at their cutesiness while those who ‘get it’ love the attention. Jeremy Scott panders to no one (though he has indeed been known to ‘panda’), and this latest twist on the teddy-stuffed Metro Attitude hightop could certainly contend for the most whimsical of his Originals by Originals drops. The Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Bear ‘Flower Power’ anchors the FW12 capsule with a hippy-dippy multicolor floral pattern atop the tennis ball green fleece upper that you can see up close and personal after the jump before heading out to a Three Stripes stockist like Social Status.

Jeremy Scott is undoubtedly the sneaker world’s most polarizing designer, and here we have a simple case of hate-it-or-love-it. Not only does the latest Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals JS Wings release feature that mercury wing add-on that’s been the most recognizable symbol of his success with the ObyO campaign, but these are done in a rainbow fleece that’ll keep your corneas just as warm as your feet this fall. Have a closer look after the jump, let us know how these compare to the other JS Wings (especially the 2NE1 edition) and stick with Sneaker News for updates because these just touched down at Japan’s Styles.
