Part of the equation Jordan Brand Classic 2013 is basketball, and the showcasing of young talent and future superstars. But another part of the equation, one just as crucial, is the goal of bringing together a mini-community of athletes and providing them with a once-in-a-lifetime experience crafted by the Jordan Brand. Leading up to the trio of games on Saturday, the kids bopped around NYC and discovered the heritage of the brand throughout the city, from a sit down event with Spike Lee and Sway out in Brooklyn to a trip to Gleason’s Gym for some boxing with Andre Ward.
Of course yet another aspect of the event is its star studded status, one that was particularly prevalent this year thanks to this year’s New York/Brooklyn locale. Countless athletes, rappers, and the like were spotted courtside (Amar’e Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Victor Cruz, and Fabolous just to name a few). And then there was the Drake concert immediately following the final game which brought everybody out of their seats at the culmination of the evening. Continue reading to see what the Jordan Brand Classic kids were up to before the games went down, the celebrities that showed up, Drake’s explosive performance, and more in our Jordan Brand Classic 2013 event recap.

One of Jason Negron‘s most devoted celebrity clientele is Foamposite-crazed Joe Budden, who has shown no reservation in rocking these customized Foam creations. He’s worn them during live shows and even during interviews, but recently, Budden broke ‘em out for a casual day out – selecting the ‘Knicks’ Sole Swap customs that we’ve shown you before. This custom features the classic Royal with an orange dyed outsole with matching accents for that dream Knicks colorway (which we know Spike received a different rendition of). More of Budden and these custom Foams as well as additional shots of the shoe after the jump!

Joe Budden of Slaughterhouse has been destroying the sneaker competition lately with his next-level Foamposites – namely the sick sole-swap customs by Jason Negron. We’ve featured Negron’s work on Sneaker News for quite some time, and it’s clear that his work has piqued the interest of Budden so much that we’ve caught him wearing the sole-swapped Foams on more than one occasion. You might remember the sick Dr. Doom Foamposites he wore not long ago, but during a recent interview with Fuse, Joe rocked a ‘Lakers’ Foamposite, comprised of an Electrolime upper and an outsole dyed purple (a similar method to Negron’s Knicks customs). Peep the extra snapshots as well as the video below and let us know what you think!

If you’re a legit celebrity sneakerhead, chances are you’ve “got a guy.” After catching wind of Jason Negron’s Sole Swap Foamposite customs, rapper Joe Budden had his trusty sneaker procurer approach Jason about getting a few pairs done. The initial request was for a royal/orange ‘Knicks‘ pair and a pewter/green ‘Dr. Doom‘ version, and both were needed asap for some upcoming performances. Jason was able to scrape together the necessary component shoes and worked his magic doubletime to get them done in time. Once finished, the shoes were hand-delivered to Joe backstage at his show at Irving Plaza this past week. The Dr. Doom pair went straight onto Budden’s feet, as his head to toe gear was already assembled to match the kicks. Jason hung around breaking necks in a pair of his LED light-up Foam customs and snapped some pics of Joe in the Dr. Dooms, even a few with Joe doing some pre-show pushups. Check them out after the jump and let us know who wins the Jason Negron superhero celebrity sole swap battle between Joe Budden’s Dr. Dooms and Fabolous’s Spiderman edition.

Most of the gentlemen featured in this edition of Celebrity Feet have been known to rock heat on the regular, so what happens when you get them all in the same room? Something of an arms-race it turns out, with each sneakerhead bringing out their big guns for the 2011 B.E.T. Hip Hop Awards this past weekend in Atlanta. You can make your own judgements on who came out on top based on the full set of pics after the jump, but we’re tipping our hat to the four dudes above. New Jersey-native Joe Budden has been in the mainstream spotlight since 2003 since his ‘Pump It Up’ track became a popular track in a number of movies. Since then, Budden’s stardom as a musician hasn’t exactly been a steady upward slope, but has managed to stay in the spotlight for a number of reasons – his group Slaughterhouse signing with Shady Records earlier this year, the well publicized feud with his ex-girlfriend Esther Baxter, and a few other tidbits of drama, but he’s managed to keep his sneaker game on point. So far, he’s been spotted with the Nike LeBron 8 South Beach, the Air Jordan VI Carmine, Air Jordan XI Concord, and a few more sneaker gems, so check out a nice collection of Joe Budden and his kicks after the jump and let us know what you think.
