There’s a little less than two weeks to go in the NBA season, but the NBA kicks just seem to get better and better. After debuting the Ambassador IV on Friday night, LeBron whipped out the Nike LeBron 9 Low in Black/Red against the Knicks on Sunday. The Garden seemed to be home to a lot of great sightings, because we saw the Air Jordan 2012, Air Jordan X, Kobe VII ‘Wolf’, and even John Wall’s ‘Beyond The Gold’ PE hit the Mecca floor. Other notables include Nate Robinson showing the Melo M8 some love, OJ Mayo rocking the tonal patent leather navy Air Max CB 34 HOH exclusives, and Timofey Mosgov boasting what might be the best iD colorway of the Huarache 2k4. The sneaker king of the week is without a doubt Monta Ellis, who showed up on Friday night with the Air Jordan XVI CDP and Air Jordan XVIII CDP (switching at halftime), and on Sunday with the Silver Anniversary XI. More of this weekend’s best footwear sightings, so take a look for a full recap of NBA Feet! Photos: espn

Reebok Zig Encore John Wall ‘Beyond The Gold’ Release @ Packer Shoes – Event Recap

john wall gold packer recap 1 Reebok Zig Encore John Wall Beyond The Gold Release @ Packer Shoes Event Recap

Yesterday, Packer Shoes played host to one of the most limited sneaker releases in recent memory – the twelve-pair release of the Reebok Zig Encore ‘Beyond The Gold’ John Wall PE. Packaged in a black suitcase alongside a pair of shades and a Flud watch, the ‘Beyond The Gold’ PE serves as one of the brightest under-the-radar drops of the year, although the line-up that formed at noon on Wednesday says that these were very much zeroed in on by vigilant sneaker hunters. The crowd wasn’t limited to the NJ area either; while the first package went to one NYC resident, lucky #8, which also came with tickets to tonight’s Knicks game as well as a meet-and-greet with John Wall, went to Sebastian Cardaval, who traveled all the way from San Diego, CA.

The twelve pairs were gone fast, but Reebok and Packer Shoes didn’t allow the rest of the attendees to go empty handed, as they also released a limited number of other PE colorways of the Zig Encore like the Kentucky PE, a Red/White PE, and the Purple/Yellow Word of God Christian Academy PE. Reebok also dropped some samples, like a sick South Beach-esque pair in Wall’s size 13 that went to the unlucky 13th person in line (not so unlucky now, huh?). We’ve got a nice photo recap of the Reebok Zig Encore ‘Beyond The Gold’ John Wall PE release below, so check it out if you couldn’t be there!

Reebok Zig Encore ‘Beyond The Gold’ John Wall PE – Release Info

reebok zig encore beyond the gold release info 12 Reebok Zig Encore Beyond The Gold John Wall PE Release Info

Reebok made a big splash in the basketball market by signing 2010 first overall draft pick John Wall to a generous endorsement contract, and with the all-new Zig Basketball technology and a bonafide budding star on its side, Reebok was certainly getting ‘Back’ into the horizon of bball kicks. To celebrate John Wall’s arrival to the NBA, Reebok released a super-limited Reebok Zig Slash dubbed the ‘Gold Rush’; it was released at Foot Locker on 34th St. – one block from Madison Square Garden – on the night of Wall’s first visit to the Mecca as a pro. Continuing the ‘Gold’ saga is the release of the Reebok Zig Encore ‘Beyond The Gold’.

The shoe features Wall’s Zig Encore reprised in a tonal metallic gold finish, and comes complete with a Flud watch and a pair of sunglasses, all housed in a luxurious ‘Beyond The Gold’ suitcase. A mere twelve individually numbered pairs (yes, twelve) will drop this Thursday at 7:30 PM EST exclusively at Packer Shoes in Teaneck, NJ – 24 hours before Wall and the Wizards take on the Knicks at the Garden, and just to up the ante further, one lucky ‘Beyond the Gold’ box will contain tickets to Friday night’s game and a photo opportunity with John Wall. With such a limited number and a turnout that could rival last year’s ‘Gold Rush’ release, be sure to show up at Packer Shoes ahead of time your chance at grabbing a pair! And even if you’re not one of the fortunate 12, there will be free t-shirts and some other goodies for those who come out.

Reebok Zig Encore ‘Beyond The Gold’ John Wall PE – Release Teaser

reebok zig encore beyond the gold release teaser 1 Reebok Zig Encore Beyond The Gold John Wall PE Release Teaser

When John Wall visited Madison Square Garden to face the Knicks in November of 2010, Reebok celebrated the Big Apple spotlight by hooking up their rookie rising star with a crazy metallic gold version of his Zig Slash shoe dubbed the ‘Gold Rush’. Only 12 pairs were released to the public at a special Foot Locker release event in NYC, leading to quite a scramble outside of the 34th St. Foot Locker. We saw a sneak peek of the follow-up Zig Encore ‘Beyond the Gold’ all the way back in November, but with the NBA lockout wiping out the initial Washington Wizards trips to MSG this year, the shoe’s release seemed to be in peril. Now it appears that things are back on schedule with John Wall and company finally set to visit the Knicks this coming Friday, and a super limited release of the ‘Beyond the Gold’ is indeed on the way. Check out the teaser pics for now and stay tuned later this week for more info.

The guy who would have won NBA Rookie of the Year honors last year had Blake Griffin not sat on the Clippers bench for his entire first season just got the best of the player who’s poised to take this year’s award.  Washington Wizards point guard John Wall helped snap his team’s losing streak at the expense of Cleveland 1 Kyrie Irving, a rivalry that started during All-Star weekend when he somehow slipped to twelfth in the Shaq vs Chuck Rising Stars Challenge.  Irving was the first overall selection, but it’s Wall’s ’2′ that sees the light of day here with a new Reebok Zig Encore bringing JW2′s PE look from Orlando straight to your front door courtesy of Eastbay.

NBA Feet: 2012 Rising Stars Challenge Recap

2012 rising stars recap 18 NBA Feet: 2012 Rising Stars Challenge Recap

The league’s most promising first- and second-year players got together to participate in the 2012 BBVA Rising Stars Challenge that featured a mixed-and-matched team drafted by makeshift GMs Shaquille O’neal and Charles Barkley. Team Chuck took the win at the end with Cleveland Cavs rookie phenom Kyrie Irving taking home the MVP honors. Of course, we had our eyes glued to their feet, and the Rising Stars Challenge certainly did not disappoint; among the key sightings were there Hyperfuse Low iD for Jeremy Lin, Landry Fields and his Zoom Kobe VII PE, John Wall’s Zig Encore PE, Norris Cole’s LeBron 9 PE, and Blake Griffin’s scorching red Hyperdunk 2011s. The Rising Stars Challenge served as a platform for other brands who don’t get much notice, like Kemba Walker’s Under Armour Micro G Bloodline and Evan Turner’s Li-Ning Turningpoint ‘Year Of The Dragon’ PE. Reebok Zig Encore – John Wall All-Star Weekend PE

February 24th, 2012 by | 5 comments

reebok zig encore john wall all star pe 1 Reebok Zig Encore John Wall All Star Weekend PE

John Wall will enter this All-Star Weekend with a huge bag of chips on his shoulder; the former number-1 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft was selected twelfth in a field of twenty for the newly-formatted Rising Stars Challenge in a process wear the team’s coaches, Shaq and Charles Barkley, picked their players in a playground-style draft. Jeremy Lin, a late addition to the pool and unofficial ‘rival’ since their highly-publicized Summer League showdown, was selected third overall behind Blake Griffin and Kyrie Irving. Of course, being the twelfth pick isn’t a true expression of Wall’s value; Barkley had already selected a point guard (Irving) and filled out his start five before selecting his purported back-ups, but it still stings a bit to fall so quickly in the ranks. In any case, you can see the Washington Wizards star during the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge as well as the Taco Bell Skills Competition wearing this PE of the Reebok Zig Encore, so keep an eye out for his this weekend because Wall’s ready to shine the the spotlight!
