
The NFL has raised awareness for Breast Cancer by donning its players in pink equipment and gear for the month of October, but Jordan Brand athletes Andre Johnson, Dwight Freeney, and Michael Crabtree are ready to bring another display of support. During the month of October, the three aforementioned Jordan Brand athletes will wear special Breast Cancer Awareness PE Cleats, like the Jordan BCT Mid, Jordan BCT Speed Mid, and Jordan BCT Speed Low. Each model comes with ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ distinctions in a tonal patent leather construction. When we first gave you a look at the Jordan BCT Mid, the results were surprisingly positive given the usual tendency of sneakerheads to turn their noses up at any Jordans outside the legacy line. We’ve got another just released colorway of the Jordan BCT Mid on our hands, this time looking like an outtake from the Quai 54 releases with its black on volt combo. The breathable mesh on these combined with the support-enabling strap makes them one of the most well thought out trainers to come from Jordan Brand, not to mention the sleek silhouette has a healthy mix of materials without going overboard. The Jordan BCT Mid is a new model from Jordan Brand for 2011, a design that seeks to extend Air Jordan technology beyond the realm of basketball. This cross trainer showed up first in the form of the Jordan BCT Low, and with the heightened designed of the mid comes a revamped shoe. The ankle coverage gets beefed up, with the previous forefoot strap getting bumped to the tongue, adding a layer of stability to the already successful design of the low. This darker colorway is also a little more in line with what Jordan aficionados expect when they here the term “Black Cat”, with the majority of the upper dipped in black save for the laces, heel clip, midsole, and various accents. A few weeks ago, Sneaker News gave you a look at the July 2011 footwear releases from Jordan Brand, which included new colorways of the Air Jordan 1 and brand new designs like the Jordan TC and Jordan BCT Mid. Included in this small update are new colorways of each of the new models, as well as a crisp new colorway of the casual Jordan TE 3 Low. The new Jordan TC featured a colorway similar to the Air Jordan V ‘USA’ that is also set to drop that month, and BCT Mid combines Black and High Voltage yellow for a visual spark. Jordan Brand introduced the Jordan BCT Low – a training-specific athletic shoe that combined Jordan Brand’s sleek styling with proven architectural design from Nike Training footwear. Here’s a look at the Mid version, aptly named the Jordan BCT Mid; the forefoot strap has been moved up to the ankle, and the upper features a multiple materials like a thin nubuck shell, breathable mesh, and a composite material on the toe and in-step that provides stability and lightweight advantages. Could the Jordan BCT Mid be a good basketball shoe? There’s no reason why it wouldn’t be, as the BCT Mid is an all-purpose athletic shoe that provides comfort and support from all angles.
