Among the most significant rap groups of the 1990s, the Wu-Tang Clan is rarely seen in full force as it’s simply too hard to coordinate 9 schedules and the individual artists’ obligations. So when the Wu set up the Iron Flag in Sydney, Australia on Thursday, they settled for a third of the full group, with Ghostface Killa, GZA and Inspectah Deck holding down the fort and rocking some fresh kicks. Despite several of the group’s members having collaborated via Def Jam with adidas Originals a couple years back, all appeared to be wearing Nikes starting with the Inspectah decked out in a black/white Jordan CP3.IV that had roughly the opposite color distribution as the Genius’ Air Max 90s. Rounding out the group was Tony Starks in his typical multilayered garb, what looks like his go-to black Goadome boots a fitting base for the heavily protected look. Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul are together in China again, and though it’s too early for a USAB reunion on the site of their 2008 Olympic gold medal win, these two are clearly united by a mission handed down from their US-based sponsor. Their challenge: let the 300 million Chinese basketball players know what we in the States see/feel when we encounter the Jumpman. We just showed you the Melo M7 Advance and now here’s the ‘Chinese Mask’ colorway for Paul’s Jordan CP3.IV. These joints mix the primary shades of pigment with a white midsole and side panel for a bright and youthful look, and you can find a few pairs available now from Kicks-crew.

Chris Paul’s Jordan Brand signature line just took a page from Carmelo Anthony by advancing its design with a mid-cycle upgrade, but that doesn’t mean the original Jordan CP3.IV won’t be releasing in new colorways. In fact, despite the Hornets’ first round playoff loss, the CP3.IV has been on quite a roll over the last month, the Tokyo23 colorway the sole JB sig to join the AJ5 for that collection, and now this classic ‘J-Pack’ colorup that borrows from the original Air Jordan 1. Just yesterday Sneaker News showed you this upcoming colorway of the Jordan CP3.IV in Varsity Royal and Black. Can you spot the differences with these sample versions? (We’ll give a few moments to look back here). Right off the bat, you can see that the upper mesh panel is a tonal Varsity Royal, compared to the black triangular segments seen on the released version. Another difference lies within the Jumpman logo on the toe (blue in the Sample version, white in the Release version). See if you can spot any more differences and let us know what you find. via JordansDaily.

Some of the best releases from Chris Paul’s Jordan Brand signature sneaker series over the years have been inspired by Air Jordan Legacy favorites, and if we were looking for an association, then this new release can certainly be seen as the ‘J-Pack’ Air Jordan CP3.IV. This Varsity Royal and black colorup echoes the Air Jordan 1 colorway copied on a couple notable SB Dunk releases, but Paul’s fourth looks quite different than those predecessors thanks to a considerably more intricate blocking pattern. Click through to see more angles of this upcoming CP3.IV colorway and stick with Sneaker News for new developments including the US release date. via Dunk
