Chris Paul’s typically unselfish play helped the Los Angeles Clippers down the visiting Miami Heat Wednesday night, and he even found a way to lend help to a team who just lost their franchise cornerstone to Staples Center’s ‘other’ tenant. The Phoenix Suns were outlasted by the Chicago Bulls in an overtime loss last night, but PHX has much to play for after a surprisingly strong start sans any major stars. After notching up the energy quite a bit with the ‘Nitro Pack’, the Jordan CP3.VI looks to get closer to home with this new colorway that sports a distinctly Clippers look to it. The pair has a sort of tonal red look on top, swicthing back and forth between sport red and gym red for the differing sections of the sneaker-white and royal that make up the rest of the equation coming in to play on the laces and outsole. Things are falling right into place for Jordan Brand; it recently paired Chris Paul with his fellow superstar teammate in Los Angeles to form a formidable tag-team brand ambassadorship, all while launching his new Jordan CP3.VI signature shoe in a special party over the weekend. Guests were treated with an interactive environment of all things CP3.VI, with customizable t-shirts, shoes, and gear available for experimenting! A number of celebrity attendees were also present, including several of CP3′s Clippers teammates and G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T, who performed some of his latest singles. If you were down in Venice Beach over the last weekend you may have been lucky enough to catch Chris Paul in action. Actually you would have caught a ton of Chris Paul’s, all of them not so much ‘in action’ as frozen in time, set up in a string of poses for this awesome new Jordan Brand video. The spot comes as a promo piece for the all new Jordan CP3.VI, extended Paul’s on court to style to a literal cut through LA (albeit a pretty small section). Not that he needed any extra help to out-quick the entire NBA, but now Chris Paul has the support of nitrous oxide from his Jordan Brand signature. The Jordan CP3.VI ‘Nitro Pack’ takes its bold colorways from the tuner world where highly customized sport compact cars are king, giving us three colorways with NOS tanks right there on the insoles. This Total Orange entrant has a Day of the Dead vibe with purple and neon accents along the black base, and they’ll be joined at retail by metallic silver and neon/blue editions with an LA-exclusive release on October 21st followed by additional locations in November. There was a lot more than new shoes surrounding Chris Paul’s life in late-December; the All-NBA point guard was traded from New Orleans to Los Angeles in a last-minute blockbuster trade the created an intra-Conference shift in power, bringing a bonafide superstar to one of the biggest sports stages in the world. Now the focus is completely on basketball, and while designer Andre Doxey had already completed the CP3.VI design by the time the trade went down, a fresh new take on colorways with LA flavor had been brought in to send the Jordan CP3 line to new heights.
Inspired by Chris Paul’s infatuation with fast cars and the Los Angeles street-racing scene, Jordan Brand has created the Jordan CP3.VI ‘Nitro Pack’; these neon-friendly colorways mimic the energetic exteriors of these finely-tuned made-for-racing cars, honing in on a neon green, hot orange, and metallic silver. Jordan Brand just signed three more young stars to its team of NBA talents, all of whom have some catching up to do behind the long-Jumpman’d career of Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul. Paul is JB’s second-longest tenured athlete behind only Carmelo Anthony, and his latest signature design was built from the ground up to facilitate that intuitively slashing game of his. The Jordan CP3.VI pairs Hyperfuse construction with a flexible Podulon sole to facilitate superior flexibility for those hard cuts, and adds details like LA and North Carolina maps on the shank plates and area codes on the aglets. The CP3.VI drops next Wednesday, 10.3, and you can see the premier colorways in greater detail below.
