Just how did a relatively short shooting guard from a (previously) obscure mid-major college become one of the truly elite players of his generation? Dwyane Wade showed the kind of fight for which he’s now legendary on the national stage he more or less created for Marquette University back in 2003 when the Miami Heat star carried those Golden Eagles to the Final Four with a dazzling array of recklessly slashing drives. We saw the same kind of resolve last night when Wade stared down the much larger Kendrick Perkins in his own arena, and despite the Heat loss Sunday evening, they’re still positioned as the Eastern Conference’s 2 seed. So will we see D-Wade rocking the upcoming Jordan D’reign come playoff time? This pair’s crisp white build would make a nice ‘home’ look even though MIA’s American Airlines Arena garb is typically red, and they should arrive at select Jordan Brand accounts just in time for the regular season’s final push. Jordan Brand currently commands the kind of Big Three signature stars that all the NBA teams are trying to assemble for themselves, but the breakdown of signature sneakers is a bit more like the Miami Heat’s situation than the selfless Boston Celtics. Carmelo Anthony is currently the ‘Chris Bosh’ of the bunch, waiting in the wings while JB teammates Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade see their secondary series on store shelves. And while Chris Paul’s CP’Quick still leaves him several sigs behind LeBron James for the sake of this analogy, D-Wade is clearly the ‘Dwyane Wade’ in this scenario, a role that reflects the nomenclature in play for his new Jordan D’reign. This play on Dwyane’s most commonly used nickname is pictured above in a bold ‘away’ look that adds patent leather to its toe for that tradtional Jordan elegance; how do they compare to the Fly Wade 2?
