Dwyane Wade fans had cause to rejoice this past April, as the Heat superstar finally released his long overdue signature shoe with Jordan Brand, the Jordan Fly Wade, all while making a bid at another championship to add to his resume. While the championship eluded him, it’s safe to say the sneakers were a success, and we’re being treated to a new ‘South Beach’ like colorway of the Jordan Fly Wade in July. You might call it a copycat colorway but let’s be honest, Wade has been doing his thing in Miami long before LeBron, so he should certainly be allowed to rep the flashy blue/black/pink combo that seems to be everywhere nowadays. Hit the jump for a full look at this July 7th release and let us know in the comments how they measure up to LeBron’s South Beaches.

NBA Feet: 2011 Finals – Game 6 Recap

June 12th, 2011 by | 94 comments

2011 finals game 6 recap summary NBA Feet: 2011 Finals Game 6 Recap

In 2006, the Miami Heat defeated the Dallas Mavericks in six games. In 2011, the Mavericks returned the favor by winning the final three games of the Finals and capturing the franchise’s first ever NBA Championship. Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, and the rest of the Mavericks were all smiles, while a deflated Big Three were reduced to expressions of disappointment and tears. Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki struggled for the first half of the game, only to have his slack picked up by Jason Terry and Jose Juan Barea. Dirk eventually righted his target scope for the second half, hitting clutch buckets when they mattered the most. LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, who spoke of multiple championships before the season started, entered Game 6 refreshed and ready for action. The Big Three started off strong, but in the second half, LeBron’s passivity on both ends and Wade’s recklessness made it tough for the Heat to keep up with Dallas’ high-percentage scoring. In the end, Mark Cuban and the Mavericks have plenty to celebrate, and the Heat have a long off-season to mull things over. The 2011 NBA Finals is a wrap, so check out the Game 6 recap below! via Yahoo!

jordan fly wade game 6 pe 1 Dwyane Wade Asks for Help Choosing a Game 6 Jordan Fly Wade PE

For Game 6, Dwyane Wade has his eyes set on one of two PE colorways of the Jordan Fly Wade, and he reached out to his loyal twitter followers for a little help. The two different colorways combine Miami Heat-specific colors – one featuring a red/white upper with a black inner lining and outsole and a second white pair with a black ankle-collar and midsole. Gmae 6 just tipped off and it looks like Wade chose the latter colorway, but who knows – he might break out the second pair in the second half. Seeking revenge for their 2006 loss, the Dallas Mavericks are hell-bent on winning their first ever NBA Championship. Thanks to the clutch shooting of Jason Terry and Dirk Nowitzki, the Mavericks will return to Miami up 3-2 in the NBA Finals, just one win away from glory. On the footwear side of things, the Miami Heat have been keeping us interesting with their team-oriented colorways, and for Game 5, they went with black-base colorways after going the tonal-red route in Game 4. LeBron James wore the Black/Red PE of the LeBron 8 P.S. and Dwyane Wade wore a Black/Red PE of the Jordan Fly Wade. The Mavs went with a basic White/Blue/Black theme, led by Dirk’s Nike Hyperdunk 2010 PE. It’s going to be an interesting Game 6, which goes back to Miami, so stick with Sneaker News for NBA Feet updates for the rest of the series! via Yahoo!.

NBA Feet: 2011 Finals – Game 4 Recap

June 8th, 2011 by | 19 comments

2011 nba finals game 4 summary NBA Feet: 2011 Finals Game 4 Recap

‘Even Stevens’ is a term commonly used in soccer, but it applies to the 2011 NBA Finals match-up between the Dallas Maverick and Miami Heat. Each team has proven that they can win on the road and lose at home, so the what remains – essentially a three-game series – will decide the first NBA Champion of the new decade, and Home Court advantage has proven to be somewhat irrelevant. It wasn’t such a hot night for superstars, but in the end, Dirk Nowitzki came through and pushed his team to victory. On the other side, Dwyane Wade had one of his best games of the 2011 Playoffs, but teammate LeBron James couldn’t follow the lead. It was another familiar collection of sneakers for Game 4; LeBron and his LeBron 8 P.S. NBA Finals PE and Wade’s Jordan Fly Wade Finals PE were some highlights, as were Mike Miller’s Zoom KD III iD and Mario Chalmers’ adidas Crazy Light. The Mavs continued to keep their sneaker game simple, with easy white-based colorways matched with Mavericks-specific colors. Jordan Fly Wade – Maya Moore PE

June 6th, 2011 by | 5 comments

jordan fly wade maya moore 1 Jordan Fly Wade Maya Moore PE

Jordan Brand moved fast to sign WNBA 2011 #1 pick Maya Moore, and the rookie forward has been spotted wearing Dwyane Wade’s first JB signature in her early games with the Minnesota Lynx.  Check out this new Jordan Fly Wade PE for Moore, a look whose combination of greys could equally well compliment the Lynx’ home or away jerseys.  The curious thing about this pair is that while the Lynx uniforms share their palette with the Timberwolves, this pair reaches outside the Target Center to pull in a red accent along the midsole that seems to prove that David Stern is letting the ladies get away with a little extra.  Click through to see some pics of Maya in the Orion Blue version and stick with Sneaker News for the latest (W)NBA player exclusive sneakers.

NBA Feet: 2011 Finals – Game 3 Recap

June 6th, 2011 by | 21 comments

nba feet 2011 finals game 3 summary NBA Feet: 2011 Finals Game 3 Recap

The Miami Heat headed to Dallas with the series tied one game a piece, suddenly the ‘underdog’ as they squandered Home Court advantage by losing Game 2. You can consider Game 3 a ‘must-win’ for the Heat, and they certainly came through in fashion, sporting a team-unified tonal-red footwear theme. LeBron James wore the Nike LeBron 8 P.S. NBA Finals PE and Wade wore the Jordan Fly Wade NBA Finals PE, but the rest of the Heat sported some eye-catching sneakers as well. Chris Bosh wore a tonal-red Air Max Hyperdunk 2010, Mike Miller wore a Nike Zoom KD III iD, and both Juwan Howard and Mike Bibby wore other PE colorways of the Jordan Fly Wade. Not much change on Dallas’ side, although Dirk did wear a PE colorway of the Nike Hyperdunk 2010.
