Jordan Melo M8 Low

With Jeremy Lin out for the Playoffs, Mike Bibby knew he had to shake off the rust and get his game on point for the Knicks. Now with his only other point-guard support in Baron Davis also done for the postseason, Mike Bibby is doing what he can to summon his younger self, and his Game 4 performance which consisted of two clutch 3′s and some secure ball-handling apparently arrived at just the right time. His contributions proved to be invaluable to the Knicks’ lone playoff win, as his two clutch threes and secure ball-handling helped New York maintain balance on offense, but maybe it’s been the support of Melo that’s been the source of his mini-resurgence; for the Playoffs, Bibby has been wearing what appears to be a low-top version of the Jordan Melo M8, opting for the Royal Blue colorway for yesterday’s game. Will Bibby switch to the Grey colorway for Game 5, or better yet, will the Melo M8 Low hit stores? Check out Bibby’s PE collection after the jump and let us know what you think.

NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 5/4 5/6

The NBA Playoffs continued over the past weekend, as we got a look a select number of new sneakers as the teams shifted ‘Home’ and ‘Away’. Starting off, Kobe Bryant wore a PE Black/Yellow colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite (not far off from the Gold), as he led the Lakers to a 3-1 lead over the Nuggets. The Lakers’ local counterparts also featured some new sneakers, like CP3′s ‘Home’ colorway of the Playoffs joints and Eric Bledsoe’s LeBron 9 ‘Christmas’. Out East, Carmelo pulled out NY’s first Playoff win in years in a White/Orange/Grey PE of the Jordan Melo M8, while Rajon Rondo led the Celtics to a 3-1 advantage over the Hawks while wearing the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 in a White/Green PE (Rondo once mentioned that the 2k4 was the most comfortable basketball shoe he ever wore). Jordan Brand June 2012 Footwear

The two highlight Retro releases of the month of June will be the Air Jordan XII ‘Obsidian’ and the Air Jordan IV ‘Military’, and based on this first look at Jordan Brand’s June 2012 footwear line-up, we can see that those themes have indeed spilled onto its lifestyle and Team releases. Shoes like the Air Jordan Retro V.1 and the Jordan 1 Flight Mid will arrive in ‘Military’ uniforms, while the Air Jordan XII Clave and Jordan Flight 23 Classic will don the darker Obsidian to match the original ’97 colorway. There’s still plenty of other releases to note, like the Melo M8 and Jordan 1 Phat in classic Bulls attire, so peep all the Jordan Brand June 2012 Footwear and we’ll keep you updated with more releases.

Jordan Melo M8 Gym Red White Black

Looks like Knicks are back to square one, but the silver lining of Amare’s freak injury and Jeremy Lin’s healing knee is that Carmelo played his absolute best (perhaps the best of his career) with the two starters sitting on the bench. The series now shifts back to New York, and although this particular chapter of the Heat vs. Knicks saga has been the least action-packed, we expect Carmelo, the probably DPOY in Tyson, and the most raucous crowd in the NBA to lift the Knicks into contention and perhaps pull out at least one win during Games 3 and 4. Melo will likely revert to the Anthracite/Blue colorway of his Melo M8, but once the Playoffs are done, you’ll get the opportunity to cop this sick Gym Red/Black-White colorway, which features a daring patent leather red upper with a slick trim of elephant print along the collar of the shoe. Your thoughts on this latest Melo M8 colorway?

Jordan Brand Gears Up For The 2012 Playoffs

The Jordan Brand Big Three spent a few extra days off this week to rest for the big stage, currently scheduled to kick off tomorrow. Out West, Chris Paul will lead Lob City against the tough Memphis Grizzlies squad wearing two PE colorways of the Jordan CP3.V, which shuffles around the Clippers’ crest of White, Red, and Varsity Royal. In the East, Melo and Wade will meet in a collision down in Miami, as the Heat invite the Knicks to their Home Court for Game 1 of their series. Jordan Melo M8 Anthracite White Orange Blaze

Over the last month, Carmelo Anthony has been playing the best basketball of his career, leading the Knicks charge into the Playoffs to a much-anticipated match-up against either the Heat or Bulls, or even the Pacers if they managed to capture the 6-seed. In what has been an awe-inspiring display of at-will offensive acumen, team-oriented leadership, and an overall MVP-type play (epitomized by his second career triple double last week), Carmelo has proven that he’s not only one of the best scorers in the game, but still one of the best period. This upcoming May 9th release of the Melo M8 is like an ‘Alternate’ Knicks get-up, as it swaps out the classic Knicks blue for Anthracite, creating a new look at a Knicks vibe anchored by the patent leather orange blaze upper. We’ve got a full shot of this new Melo M8 below so take a look and let us know what you think. Photos: gallery2/kinetics

NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 4/13 4/15

There’s a little less than two weeks to go in the NBA season, but the NBA kicks just seem to get better and better. After debuting the Ambassador IV on Friday night, LeBron whipped out the Nike LeBron 9 Low in Black/Red against the Knicks on Sunday. The Garden seemed to be home to a lot of great sightings, because we saw the Air Jordan 2012, Air Jordan X, Kobe VII ‘Wolf’, and even John Wall’s ‘Beyond The Gold’ PE hit the Mecca floor. Other notables include Nate Robinson showing the Melo M8 some love, OJ Mayo rocking the tonal patent leather navy Air Max CB 34 HOH exclusives, and Timofey Mosgov boasting what might be the best iD colorway of the Huarache 2k4. The sneaker king of the week is without a doubt Monta Ellis, who showed up on Friday night with the Air Jordan XVI CDP and Air Jordan XVIII CDP (switching at halftime), and on Sunday with the Silver Anniversary XI. More of this weekend’s best footwear sightings, so take a look for a full recap of NBA Feet! Photos: espn

Jordan Melo M8 Oak Hill PE

Carmelo Anthony’s clutch Easter performance came in a special Jordan Melo M8 PE that offered a rich suede upper whose matching Flywire panel results in an elegant, uniform look.  That same motif works just as well for the team with which Melo first made national headlines as the one for which he’s currently balling, as the Oak Hill Academy player exclusive proves with a lush take on their red and gold school colors.  This material and color distribution seems particularly crisp next to a pair of 2009′s Air Jordan 16.5s; does this newer ‘dipped’ look win out over a more traditional Jordan blocking pattern?  You’ll see them side by side after the jump below, where you can leave a comment to let us know where these rank in the always growing collection of Air Jordan player exclusives.  via riplovesun on hupu
