You’re used to seeing Air Jordans dressed up in special collections by now, but it’s not too often that Jordan Brand takes that route with sneakers other than Mike’s. They’ve done it here though for Carmelo Anthony as a nod to the ten-year mark that he’s reached with the brand. If you’ve been into Melo Jordans for a while then you know that the first couple are separate from the rest in terms of nomenclature-the Jordan Melo M3 being the first with a more modern name. Continue reading to see the whole set, which has a distinct “Nuggets” flair to it, and tell us in the comments which is your favorite Jordan Melo sneaker of all time.

Jordan Melo M8 Advance – Release Date

September 6th, 2012 by | 2 comments

jordan melo m8 advance release date 3 Jordan Melo M8 Advance Release Date

Is Carmelo Anthony the most dangerous player in the game right now? No disrespect to any of the Team USA ballers, but Carmelo finished off the season on an absolute tear, was lighting up every rim in London, and is heading into the upcoming season in the best shape of his career. It wasn’t widely publicized but Melo did in fact wear a new sneaker during the Gold Medal Game – the Jordan Melo M8 Advance; it’s the Melo M8 structure with a Hyperfuse shell, built on top of the outrageously comfortable cushioning (seriously, one of the best of 2012). The colorways we showed you before like the ‘Knicks’ and the energetic ‘Italian Icy’ might be a bit region-specific, but the USA is one that anyone and everyone can get down with this Saturday, when the Advance is set for its first release. Let’s hope Melo can continue his run this upcoming season, so let us know how you think the Knicks will fare this season and cop the Advance this Saturday.

Team USA vs. Spain – Gold Medal Game Recap

team usa olympic basketball sneakers gold medal game 46 570x366 Team USA vs. Spain Gold Medal Game Recap

Team USA has done it again. It wasn’t as easy as some expected, with our men’s Olympic basketball squad being tested a couple of times during these summer games, but now that it’s all said and done our elite group is going home with the gold. Their final hurdle was the Spanish national team, one of the deepest in terms of NBA players with big names like the brothers Gasol and Serge Ibaka putting in work.

The rematch of the 2008 Beijing meeting between USA and Spain served up another nail-biter for basketball fans worldwide, with the Spanish squad bringing things within one point at the halfway mark. With their work cut out for them Team USA rose to the challenge; Kevin Durant pulled down 30, Kobe continued to be one of the hardest working players in the world, Chris Paul had his deft play on full display, and LeBron James closed out his incredible run over the past nine months with some huge highlight plays and an Olympic gold medal. Turning to the sneaker side of things there were a few notable shake ups: Chris Paul hit the court in the upcoming Jordan CP3.VI, Durant showed up in the NIKE iD version of the Nike Zoom KDIV ‘USA’ rather than the retail release, Kobe skipped out on his gold medal sneaks, and LeBron of course wowed the world with the debut of his Nike LeBron X (more on that later). Jordan Melo M8 Low

jordan melo m8 low 4 Jordan Melo M8 Low

With Jeremy Lin out for the Playoffs, Mike Bibby knew he had to shake off the rust and get his game on point for the Knicks. Now with his only other point-guard support in Baron Davis also done for the postseason, Mike Bibby is doing what he can to summon his younger self, and his Game 4 performance which consisted of two clutch 3′s and some secure ball-handling apparently arrived at just the right time. His contributions proved to be invaluable to the Knicks’ lone playoff win, as his two clutch threes and secure ball-handling helped New York maintain balance on offense, but maybe it’s been the support of Melo that’s been the source of his mini-resurgence; for the Playoffs, Bibby has been wearing what appears to be a low-top version of the Jordan Melo M8, opting for the Royal Blue colorway for yesterday’s game. Will Bibby switch to the Grey colorway for Game 5, or better yet, will the Melo M8 Low hit stores? Check out Bibby’s PE collection after the jump and let us know what you think.
