Things are rolling well for Carmelo Anthony, who just dropped fifty on the undermanned Heat and lead the Knicks with incredible momentum going into the Playoffs. We’re still waiting to see Melo rock the “Heat Suit” colorway of the Jordan Melo M9 (also dubbed the Nemesis), but we’ve been distracted recently with some unreleased colorways like the sick Royal/Orange “Knicks” colorway and this Black/Silver/Crimson version that looks similar to the one we spotted out at the Jordan Brand Flight Deck during the 2013 All-Star Weekend. With a clean color-combo and some interesting materials on the toe-box, it’s sad that these never released, and we figure they’ll stay unreleased considering the production dates go back to July. It stinks that there aren’t enough “Knicks” colorways out there, but its particularly puzzling that Carmelo’s M9 is so limited in that regard. Just like how LeBron’s signature shoes come in several Heat-based colorways, the Jordan Melo M9 should have at least three – one for Home, one for Away, and a third “Alternate” spin. Something like this unreleased Royal Blue/Orange version would fit that bill perfectly, wouldn’t it? It’s got a patent leather toe-box with a solid Royal Blue upper and hints of orange on the outsole, laces, Jumpman, and Melo logo on the upper for quite the effective Knicks look. With a production date that hits close to mid-June of 2012, it’s likely that these won’t hit stores, but if they do, we’ll let you know. Turns out there were more Jordan Melo M9 colorways that the Brand flirted with but never went through with as we get a look at yet another unreleased colorway here. The Black, Dark Grey, Grape purple, and Aqua Blue does indeed have that familiar mix seen in the Air Jordan VIII “Aqua”, but does it work as poignantly on the Jordan Melo M9? Maybe it was scrapped as it was a bit too similar to the All-Star colorway? An actual release may not go down considering the production dates go back fairly far to July 2012, but stay tuned for updates and see what the asking price is from oregonsole on eBay.

Ten years ago, Carmelo Anthony led Syracuse to an NCAA Championship. Today, the former college mega-star is an All-Star Game staple, Olympic Gold Medalist, and one of a select players in NBA history to have nine signature shoes (Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Allen Iverson, and Kobe Bryant – between two brands – are the only others). Of that group, only Melo and Michael have won a college ‘chip, so having Melo M9s on your feet have to be a sign of good fortune, right? Justin Taylor of Jordan Brand designed the Jordan Melo M9 with high-end watches in mind, taking inspiration from exposed inner machinery of the timepieces and creating the ‘M’ Flywire panels on the upper of the shoe. With the construction of the lockdown fit taking one more of that unshrouded approach, we’re already given a good look at the inner bootie of the Melo M9, but for some, that wasn’t enough; the folks notorious for dissecting sneakers put the Melo M9 under the microscope, taking apart the intricate upper to reveal the layered design and the unique Zoom bag on the heel and forefoot. Do you remember what Melo was rocking last Easter? Knick fans may remember that game as Melo’s best as a Knick, hitting a game-tying three-pointer at the end of the regulation and a game-winner at the end of the OT – all while wearing a clean blue suede PE of the Jordan Melo M8. We’ve shown you a similar make-up of the Jordan Melo M9, but chances are Carmelo will be wearing the ‘Poison Green’ colorway, which mixes in soft tones of blue, yellow, and green to compose a rather nicely done Easter colorway (the same as that Spiz’ike).
