nba feet 2 13 12new NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 2/10 2/12

Did any NBA ballers partake in what might be the biggest sneaker release day ever? We did spot a bunch of players wearing the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’, but that was just the tip of the iceberg because this weekend might’ve been the most heat-filled week of the season. Jordan Crawford, who has quietly built a solid rep as a sneakerhead to look out for, wore the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Metallic Red’, while new pick-up Reggie Williams of the Charlotte Bobcats wore the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Year Of The Dragon’. Other heat included Paul George’s Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Bordeaux’, while Utah youngsters C.J. Miles and Enes Kanter jazzed it up with the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. Ray Allen wore the Air Jordan 2011 A-Flight, Chris Paul dazzled in a nice PE of the CP3.V, and Delonte West maintained the tempo with the Air Max Uptempo. Can’t end an NBA Feet without a Jeremy Lin mention, because he took down the Lakers and the T-Wolves with the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Low. We’ve got a whole lot more for you below, so peep the best of the weekend after the jump and let us know who laced up the sickest kicks! via Yahoo!

Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Bordeaux’ – Release Reminder

February 3rd, 2012 by | 26 comments

jordan spizike bordeaux rr 4 Jordan Spizike Bordeaux Release Reminder

When we first caught wind of the Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Bordeaux’ back in June (yes, it was that long ago), the response was positive, particularly from Spiz’ike fans who were waiting for a fresh new OG-inspired colorway. But once we caught a live view of the shoe, the ‘Bordeaux’ moniker was put up for question as the shoe, while owning similar colors to the Air Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’, didn’t exactly resemble the OG Air Jordan it was tied to. Later on, a pair of the ‘Bordeaux’ Spiz’ikes were given to President Barack Obama as a special gift from Spike Lee and Jordan Brand. Although the Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Barack’ nickname never caught on, it would be pretty interesting to see the prez rockin’ these Jordans during the next State of the Union Address. You can cop your own Spiz’ike Bordeaux tomorrow at Jordan Brand retailers or from sneakermanid on eBay.

New York Giants superstar Victor Cruz and hosts of BET’s 106 & Park participated in a fun segment on yesterday’s show, as Cruz and Rocsi engaged in a heated ‘salsa’ battle in front of the live audience. As you know, Victor Cruz’s touchdown dance is now a household move, but does Rocsi pull it off better? During the segment, all three wore some heat for the shoe; Cruz broke out the Nike LeBron 9 ‘China’, Rocsi danced around in the Air Jordan IV GS ‘Voltage Cherry’, and Terrence J wore the Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Bordeaux’. Check out some of the still from the video below and let us know: Who wins the salsa battle, Victor Cruz or Rocsi?

It’s clear that the latest Jordan Spiz’ike is more of a reinterpretation than a direct borrowing from the legendary OG Air Jordan VII for which it’s named, but if the ‘Bordeaux’ Spizike is good enough for President Barack Obama, it’s good enough for your average sneakerhead. Spike Lee himself gifted the Prez with a special wooden package including the upcoming Spiz’ike release, and while we’ll never have a chance at that special laser-etched box, the shoe itself that comes roughly a year after last the long awaited AJ7 Retro will be yours for the taking from select Jordan Brand retailers in just over a week, next Saturday, February 4th.

Jordan Spiz’ike – Neutral Grey – Varsity Maize – Sapphire Blue – Varsity Red

November 10th, 2011 by | 22 comments

jordan spizike bordeaux kl summary Jordan Spizike Neutral Grey Varsity Maize Sapphire Blue Varsity Red

It’s quite clear that while the ‘Bordeaux’ nickname given to this colorway is understandable, the actual OG doesn’t reflect well in the color-blocking scheme on this upcoming Spiz’ike colorway. Truth is, the rainbow of colors seen here (two tones of grey, Varsity Maize, Sapphire Blue, Varsity Red) only works well when concentrated at one point (like the tongue, for example), but when spaced out in the manner seen with the Jordan Spiz’ike, you have a completely different colorway, as made evident once again in this most recent viewing courtesy of kicks-lab. Take note of the official color designation and you won’t even see ‘Bordeaux’, which in truth is a darker, more velvety shade of red. For Spiz’ike fans, these are definitely a nice colorway on its own so if like what you see and can’t wait until February, cop a pair months in advance on eBay.
