Rihanna’s Air Jordan collection appears to be one of the more diverse amongst the celebs out there, with her popping up in more than just your standard retro releases. This latest crop of photos sees her in an as-of-yet unreleased pair-the Jordan Spiz’ike in that red suede look that we just recently learned the release date on. Carmelo Anthony’s ‘Red Nubuck’ Air Jordan IV PE has been on our radar, but why not give you heads up on a sneaker that has been confirmed for a release? The ‘Black History Month’ collection has come to be a yearly tradition at this point, cranking out black based kicks that pay homage to the history of the African diaspora. Next year the lineup will be back, with a few interesting additions to boot. The Nike LeBron X, Nike Zoom KD V, and Nike Zoom Kobe VIII will be there, along with a strong Air Jordan showing featuring the Spiz’ike, Air Jordan 1, and Jordan Melo M9. Rounding out the group are a couple non-traditional models- the Nike WMNS Dunk Sky High, the Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite, and an all new model called the Nike Lunar Force 1 Fuse. Two words: Employee Perks. Jordan Brand athlete Chris Paul recently showed off his entire collection of the Air Jordan IX ‘Kilroy Pack’, but that wasn’t all he got from Jordan Brand in this recent mass-shipment. Along with the entire set of Kilroys, CP3 got a nice set of his own signature shoe (the Jordan CP3.VI), the Air Jordan IV ‘Bred’, the ‘Raging Bull’ Spizikes, and a duo of AJ1s. It certainly is nice to be one of Jordan Brand’s own, but you’ll have the opportunity to collect this Holiday 2012 stash of footwear for yourself once the first wave of releases begin in October. Jordan Brand typically clusters its distinct colorways in one bunch, so is the previously confirmed release date for these Spi’zikes (December 8th) an indicator for the release date of the Air Jordan IV ‘Thunder’? It’s a fair conjecture, but if you miss out on the release of the Thunders (likely to be limited to some degree), these Spiz’ikes should be a fine replacement; it features Black and University Gold with the latter color providing contrast stitching on the upper and a White/Dark Grey trim around the rest of the shoe to complete its own ‘Thunder’ look. Perhaps the ‘Thunder’ will release in a similar manner to this, but we’ll keep you updated on that trending story once details surface.

Sneaker boutique SOLEFLY celebrates the second year of its inception with this awesome collaboration with Jordan Brand; using ‘The U’ as the inspiration, SOLEFLY has colored up the Jordan Spiz’ike with a Hurricane-directed green and orange with a light grey elephant print toe and heel. These limited edition Spiz’ikes will release this Saturday in-store at SOLEFLY, but the only way to get your hands on these is to get an invite directly from the SOLEFLY camp because the release event is a private, invite-only affair. We’ve got one more detailed look at these Miami-based Spiz’ikes so check ‘em out and we’ll let you know if these have any chance at a wider release in the future.

Remember that one time a well respected sneaker boutique teamed up with Jordan Brand for a limited release pair dipped in a military style green and orange colorway? Are we seeing history being made once again with this Jordan Spiz’ike project for the second anniversary of SoleFly sneaker boutique? Sure its not a retro but you’ve gotta tip your hat to any store who can pull down this type of project given how rare it is for Jordan Brand to hand the reins over to a third party for a little collab action. The pairs will apparently be doled out to SoleFly friends and family at their second anniversary celebration scheduled for Saturday, so don’t expect to get your hands on a pair unless you’re amongst that group for now. The Jordan Spiz’ike is a model being carried pretty much solely by Spike Lee himself at the moment, as the retail pairs have been put on hold until the closing months of 2012. In the mean time Spike has stayed with the exclusives, with one such exclusive getting a bit more background as of now. The pair pictured is a friends and familiy edition of the Jordan Spiz’ike cooked up for the second anniversary of Miami sneaker boutique SOLEFLY, with the pair wearing the Miami Hurricanes orange and green look.
