Michael Jordan made his collegiate breakthrough at their expense, and other than preventing three of the school’s famed big men from any championships during his Chicago reign, Mike’s been quite generous to Georgetown University. Dating back as far as the school’s Nike days when Allen Iverson famously rocked the ‘Concord’ Air Jordan XI, the Hoyas have been associated with the Jumpman, and this year’s player exclusives are a perfect match for the GU’s classy yet always potentially graphically intensive on-court presentation. Those camo colored pairs of the Jordan Super Fly were just the beginning when it comes to the PE treats that the Marquette University mens basketball team will be equipped with this year, with a good number of other recently released silos rounding out the selection. Also included are two pairs of the Jordan Aero Flight and one of the Air Jordan 2012 Lite, each doing its own thing with the Golden Eagles look. Earlier today Sneaker News gave you a look at the Jordan Super.Fly PE made for the Georgetown Hoyas, who will start their season as participants in the Navy-Marine Corps Classic. Marquette will also don its own camo-printed Player Exclusives as part of the Carrier Classics in Charleston, SC as they will take the court in its own Super.Fly designed with a University Blue digi-camo upper, gold midsole and tongue, and a translucent outsole. Earlier this week the Michigan State Spartans gave us an advanced look at their Hyperfuse 2012 Player Exclusives that they plan on wearing for tonight’s Armed Forces Classic. Georgetown, a Jordan Brand-outfitted school, will also partake in a special sporting event honoring the men and women in uniform by taking on Florida in the 2012 Navy-Marine Corps Classic in Jacksonville. The Hoyas will wear this incredible digi-camo PE version of the Jordan Super.Fly which features a translucent outsole revealing the Georgetown logo on the footbed. Additional angles are right ahead so take a look and be sure to catch the game tonight as Georgetown and Florida begin their respective 2012-13 campaigns!

The next generation of Jordan Brand is looking mighty healthy as the brand that Michael built has been fortified with the presence of one of the most exciting players in the game today. Blake Griffin, who found his way into our hearts with his deadpan charisma and magnificent dunking showcase, officially joins Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Ray Allen, and newcomer Russell Westbrook as the brand’s headlining athletes, teaming up with CP3 in one of the biggest basketball markets in the nation.
This may come as a surprise considering the sudden stoppage of the momentum gained by Nike and the non-signature flagship Hyperdunk model, and many of Blake’s fans projected the Oklahoma alumni to eventually join LeBron, KD, and Kobe as Nike’s exclusive signature-sneaker club. However, this is certainly an outstanding strategic move by Jordan Brand in the wake of Dwyane Wade’s departure; Los Angeles, New York, Miami, OKC, and Chicago make up the bulk of the big-market teams, and Jordan Brand certainly has their chess pieces in the right places.
This week, in his season debut, Blake wore a Royal/Black colorway of the Jordan Super.Fly, which all but sealed Griffin’s allegiance with Jordan Brand. The question that instantly surfaces is: Will Blake get his own signature shoe? Who will get his own shoe first – Russell, or Blake? Will either of them even get their own shoe, or will they be the ambassadors for the top-shelf models like the Super.Fly? The second night of Opening Games for the 2012-13 NBA Season went down last night, but it could it be up to par of Tuesday night’s showcase of Gold LeBron X PEs, Pink Foamposites, and Ray’s XVI? You tell us. Starting off, we saw the Metallic Red Foams on the feet of Lamar Odom as well as J.J. Hickson, while Kobe rocked a PE/iD colorway of the Zoom Kobe VII. Nate Robinson wore three (yes, THREE) different Air Jordan Retros, Demar DeRozan whipped out the Air Jordan IV ‘Black Cat’, and Jared Jeffries (not pictured), wore the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’. In an era in which what’s “on feet” is as titillating as any other aspect of the game of basketball, Sneaker News has been doing its best to be on top of covering all the major player movements between footwear brands. This NBA off-season was one of the most eventful we’ve undergone in years, with Dwyane Wade making an incredibly daring move from Jordan Brand to Li-Ning and Russell Westbrook being called on take his place. Although the NBA Season as officially started, the dust hasn’t settled yet; last night, during the Los Angeles Clippers’ season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies, NBA superstar Blake Griffin put the Hyperdunk 2012s aside and whipped out the Jordan Super.Fly, donning the Jumpman logo in an NBA game for the first time in his career. Blake Griffin coasting side by side with Chris Paul in Jordans, in one of the biggest basketball hot-spots in the world? That’ll certainly register another 10.0 on the Richter scale. NBA Pre-Season Feet continues with this detailed look at some of the notable heat spotted during this week’s games! From the Air Jordan camp, we got a look at Monta Ellis’ “Gym Red Spiz’ikes and Demar DeRozan’s Air Jordan IV “Black Cat”, while new sig athlete Russell Westbrook did his thing in the Super.Fly.
