Jordan Super Fly “Olympic”

June 23rd, 2012 by | 12 comments

The Jordan Super Fly has been on display as part of the ‘Road to the Gold’ pack, but those kicks signifying the bridge between World Basketball Festival 2012 and the London Olympics has been conspicuously devoid of a true USA Basketball colorway. That changes today with our first viewing of this ‘Olympic’ Super Fly, a fresh take on the classic red, white, navy and gold colorup that’s been dominating the international hardwood for decades. The tonal white upper makes this arguably the cleanest Super Fly yet and with Hyperfuse construction paired with LunarLon cushioning, these also offer tremendous comfort and performance. Check them out in greater detail after the jump below and stick with Sneaker News for US release info. via SoleAwesome

Jordan Super Fly – Official Images

jordan superfly unveiled 14 Jordan Super Fly Official Images

If you weren’t aware of it just yet, the Jordan Super Fly is clear proof that the R&D team at Nike and Jordan Brand intertwine with their ideas. The design is purely Jordan Brand, which opts for a bit more luxury with the sleek cut-outs and molded midsole, but Nike chips in with the next-gen Hyperfuse and LunarLon cushioning. The total package is the Super Fly, which we’ve seen plenty of over the last month in the basic GR colorways and the city-specific ‘Road To The Gold’ Pack. We’ve got a first look at the official images below, so look out for the Jordan Super Fly in this wide rainbow of colorways to hit Jordan Brand retailers this June 29th.

Jordan Super Fly – Varsity Red – Black – White

So far the Jordan Super Fly has shown us a range of colorways from simple TB-style getups to fancier RTTG colorups and their unique detailing, but arguably none of them will be able to connect to the Air Jordan Legacy in the same way as the pair pictured above. This new Super Fly might need a nickname like ‘Rblack’, because there’s way more intense red on these than your average ‘bred’ Chicago Bulls playoff look. They have a similar eye-catching quality to what Dwyane Wade will surely wear during the 2012 NBA Finals, though the Super Fly is more likely to make its impact in the 2012-13 campaign. Check out more images after the jump below, let us know how these compare to the other pairs and stick with Sneaker News for US release info. Photos: SoleAwesome

Jordan Super Fly – Old Royal – Black – White

The first pair is still nearly three weeks from arriving at retail, but Jordan Brand’s latest basketball performance model has already made an impression in a variety of styles and color combinations. The Jordan Super Fly is pictured above in a black-accented royal blue colorup that you could call ‘J-Pack’ in a pinch, a reference to an original Air Jordan 1 colorway that underlies the impressive tech specs for this all new synthetic design. You’ll see in additional images after the jump how the tonal effect of upper, midsole and tongue tag all in different Old Royal materials adds to the impact of a relatively simple palette, and be sure to check back with Sneaker News for updates on US availability. Jordan Super Fly RTTG ‘Las Vegas’

jordan super fly rttg las vegas Jordan Super Fly RTTG Las Vegas

We’ve seen the upcoming Jordan Super Fly in a variety of styles since its first preview about six weeks ago, and the ‘RTTG’-tagged colorways have been the most visually impressive of the bunch. The pair pictured above comes with a palette that’s somewhere between classic Chicago and ‘Year of the Rabbit’, its ‘LVS’ destination hangtags connecting to the city where MJ chose to host his celebrity golf tournament (what clues can we draw from the paisley sockliner?). And speaking of Vegas, if we’re talking pure equity here, these have a 33% shot out the gate to capture your ‘RTTG’ budget; how does this particular pair compare to the ‘Washington’ and arrival TBD pairs we’ve seen so far? Let us know on the other side after you’ve seen more images and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for release info. Photos: SoleAwesome

Jordan Super Fly – Anthracite – Black

May 18th, 2012 by | 3 comments

jordan super fly anthracite black Jordan Super Fly Anthracite Black

From clues like the various ‘destination’ luggage tag-style hangtags and an almost DNA sequence-like multicolor print on each pair’s tongue, we can reasonably surmise that the ‘RTTG’ editions of Jordan Brand’s upcoming Super Fly basketball shoe are telling (at least part of) a story intimately connected to Michael himself. This design is proving itself fairly versatile as well, also taking on subtler colorways: this Anthracite, black and white Jordan Super Fly a stoic poker face when it comes to personal(ized) information. This versatile appeal means a variety of teams can employ these as an ‘away’ style; will this LunarLon-cushioned performance model make it on your shopping list with all the Retro heat in store for summer? Let us know what you think of the latest Super Fly colorup after you’ve had a chance to look at each photo, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for release info. Photos: SoleAwesome

Jordan Super Fly RTTG ‘Washington’

May 17th, 2012 by | 10 comments

jordan super fly supreme washington Jordan Super Fly RTTG Washington

This upcoming Jordan Super Fly is a part of the still nebulous ‘RTTG’ collection, a set that’s been proposed to commemorate Jordan Brand’s ‘Road to the Gold’ this Olympic summer.  We’re still waiting on more details to bring this whole story together, because along with that Olympic reference, each of these ‘RTTG’ Super Fly colorways features distinct airline baggage tag iconography.  The pair pictured above has ‘WAS’ as a reflection of both the past and the fact that this gold-accented cobalt colorup is a reference to MJ’s tenure as owner/GM of and two seasons playing for the Washington Wizards.  Let us know how these compare to the Las Vegas edition and the grey/CMY pair that’s yet to reveal its ‘destination’, and stick with Sneaker News for updates.  Photos: SoleAwesome

Jordan Super Fly – Grey – Volt

May 16th, 2012 by | 5 comments

jordan super fly grey volt 1 Jordan Super Fly Grey Volt

Early Jordan Super Fly previews have managed to impress JB’s notoriously demanding fanbase in a way that we’ve seen only a select few non-Air Jordan models. So far, we’ve seen colorways ranging from basic TB-leaning designs to the more energetic and detail-packed ‘RTTG’ editions, and now comes this new pair with a resemblance to one of the first colorways from this year’s flagship. These grey and Volt Super Flys follow the ‘Wolf Grey’ Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe with a unique blend of neutral and nothing-else-is-in-the-room.  They’re not exactly a perfect match for any major professional or collegiate team uniforms, but these are certain to turn heads this summer, and you can see more images below.
