The time we faced Doom was back in 2007 when Nike Skateboarding collaborated with the multi-persona’d hip-hop veteran Daniel Dumile.  Interspersed with alter egos Viktor Vaughn and King Geedorah, the emcee best known as MF Doom collaborated with myriad names highlighted by Madlib and Danger Mouse; simply put, Doom destroyed the mid-’00s.  A crown jewel punctuating this brilliant period was the coveted MF Doom x Nike SB Dunk High collab, whose menacing vibes we see echoed by Jwdanklefs’ latest custom job.  This ‘MF Doom’ Nike Air Max 1 nails the colorway, piping, bubbly handstyle and materials including the signature ostrich skin.  This one is a 1 of 1, but Dank also did five for Marvel’s original Dr. Doom, so check out the MF Doom Air Max 1 in greater detail below and stay tuned for more shortly.

Ronnie Fieg’s back catalog of Asics releases seems to get harder to track down with every subsequent release. JWDanklefs has decided to remedy that problem by porting over some of Fieg’s most treasured blockings onto a couple of Nike Air Max 90 customs. Serving as a sequel to his Nike Air Max 90 ‘Leatherback’ is the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Salmon Toe’ shown here. The pair puts pink on the front end and under the Swoosh, with the rest of the sneaker picking up the proper navy and white sections to complete the equation. The best-known sneaker customizers have established a bread-and-butter sneaker of choice, but JWDanklefs, whose works that don’t pop up as frequently as the Maches and El Cappys, pretty much has a hold on Air Maxes. His last ‘Leatherback’ Air Max 90 were neckbreakers and his Questlove joints were incredibly well-done, but this time he comes with a slightly more original design – a mix of ‘Old Skool’ and ‘New Skool’ on this Air Max 1. He adopts the colors from the original Nike Trainer boxes with the orange upper and white/silver diagonal stripes on the midsole and adds a re-born trend of Elephant print on the upper. We can’t overlook the embroidered Swoosh at the forefoot – a detail that comes along once in a blue moon. These customs, done for customer Stevey Ryder, are available for viewing below, so take a look and let us know what you think.
