Kanye West is a hip-hop and pop culture superstar best known for his music, taste in fashion, and sneakers. He is noted as one of the most well-versed sneakerheads in the celebrity community and is consistently seen wearing select sneakers in his music videos, live shows, and in public. He is also the first non-athlete to his his own Nike signature shoe called the Air Yeezy, which debuted in 2009. The Air Yeezy 2 is scheduled for a release in June 2012.

As he’s been prone to reminding the general public of late, Kanye’s aims have always been broader than just music. The sneaker world in particular has felt his force-from that obscure Nike Air 180 that wore his bear logo to the frenzy of yesterday’s surprise Red October release.

As you can see, there are several details that make this Retro pair stand out, like the floral accents that surround the shoe and the Donda West calligraphy on the insole.
