In just his fifth NBA Season, Kevin Durant has led his OKC Thunder to the collective franchise’s first NBA Finals appearance since Payton and Kemp took the Sonics to the main event against the Bulls in 1996. The Thunder have, without question, the best upside of any team in the NBA thanks to KD and the young roster, but will their youth and inexperience get in the way? As the Thunder and Heat kick off Game 1 of the 2012 NBA Finals (one of the best Finals match-ups over the last two decades), we may see Kevin Durant wear this great White/Gold PE colorway of the Nike Zoom KD IV that he wore during yesterday’s team shootaround.
Gold will be a recurring theme for the Finals, as his teammates may wear similar White/Gold PEs of their Nikes as well his opponents in LeBron James (LeBron 9 Elite) and perhaps even Dwyane Wade (Fly Wade 2 EV ‘Gold Coin’)/ Will he pull off a switcheroo at the last minute, or perhaps scribble some inspirational words on his shoes? Check out some additional shots of Kevin Durant’s NBA Finals sneakers below and let us know which team your money’s on to win the 2012 NBA Finals, and we’ll keep you updated on any important NBA Feet sightings! The Nike Basketball Elite Series price-tags have some sneakerheads looking exclusively at the Zoom KD IV for summer-time basketball sneaker pick-ups. Priced at less than half that of the lowest-priced Elite Series member (the Kobe VII and Hyperdunk, each priced at $200), the Nike Zoom KD IV will continue to be a hot commodity, especially with some high-energy releases still on the way (the Aunt Pearls and the N7 joints). For Games 1 and 2, Kevin Durant wore a clean and simple White/Blue colorway of the Zoom KD IV, and followed that up with a Black/Orange PE for Game 3, which went down in Dallas. The OKC Thunder are running on all cylinders, but with a Second Round meeting with the San Antonio Spurs wipe out Durant’s dreams of an NBA Title? Check out KD’s new Player Exclusives below and stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Feet coverage throughout the Playoffs. Photos: yahoo

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban believes the Western Conference is ‘wide open’, alluding to the fact this his defending champion Dallas Mavericks squad, currently slotted as the seventh seed, has as good of a chance as any of the other West teams to hit the Finals. However, with Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder as their First Round opponents, ‘wide open’ is looking a bit more closed, especially after Durant gave his Thunder a key 1-0 series lead after hitting a game-winning jumper. During Game 1, Kevin Durant sported a clean and simple White/Blue PE of the Nike Zoom KD IV, which featured bountiful scribbles of encouraging messages, like ‘Stay Positive’ seen marked right above the outrigger. We’ve got some additional close-ups of Durant’s PE as well as some in-game shots, so take a look and let us know what you think. Photos: rmbwilliams/yahoo

The NBA Playoffs kicked off this weekend with back-to-back days of action-packed NBA action. The first game of has proven to be the pace-maker for these seven-game series, but as teams enter play tonight, fortunes can change. The Playoffs started off on a bit of a down note, as reigning MVP Derrick Rose and rookie phenom Iman Shumpert suffered season-ending injuries that will undoubtedly change the fortunes of their teams. There were still plenty of gallant performances to note, like Chris Paul’s daring comeback, Andrew Bynum’s triple-double, and Josh Smith’s 22-and-18 – all coming during victories. For kicks, it was our first look at the Nike Basketball Elite Series, as Kobe Bryant wore his Elite VII ‘Home’ with a purple swoosh, while LeBron wore his Elite 9 with a red swoosh. Kevin Durant, who was not included in the Elite Series, wore a clean White/Blue PE of the Zoom KD IV, and the Hyperdunk 2011 Elite was worn by Nike big-men Chris Bosh and Tyson Chandler. Check out all of the NBA action from the first two nights of NBA Playoff action and stay tuned to Sneaker News for continual coverage! Photos: yahoo
