Kevin Durant, aka KD and ‘Durantula’, is the youngest of the three Nike Basketball signature athletes. His Zoom KD signature line is designed by Nike designer Leo Chang; the Zoom KD is most recognized for its low price-point – a product detail specified by Kevin himself. Kevin is currently the star player of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and has won three consecutive NBA Scoring Titles from 2010 to 2012.

Last night, Sneaker News gave you a first detailed look at the upcoming duet of the KD IVs from the Nike N7 initiative, which aims to bring awareness of sports and physical activities to Native American and Aboriginal communities. Although the shoes won’t release until June, Durant himself placed Nike N7 in the spotlight by wearing them during last night’s contest against the Los Angeles Clippers, matching the ‘Home’ colorway with his appropriate uniform. While the Nike Zoom KD IV wasn’t included in the Nike Basketball Elite Collection, there’s no doubt that Kevin Durant is certainly among the Elite in the NBA. He’s got the OKC Thunder atop the Western Conference by a decent margin and is favored to be the West’s representative for the upcoming 2012 NBA Finals, so we can only wait and see what sort of Playoff PEs Leo Chang and the Nike Basketball crew have in store. We’re hoping Durant will rock these soon, the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Easter’, in the coming weeks, and as this detailed gallery suggests, the Easter KD IV is definitely one of the best of the bunch. And just to clarify one thing – that is a shade of purple on the interior face of the Adaptive Fit strap! If you closely examine the details of the Nike Zoom KD line, you would realize that Kevin Durant keeps his friends and family close to his heart. Working with designer Leo Chang, Kevin Durant has managed to make his signature a walking tribute to those individuals who have been unbreakable pillars in his life, and no better person to earn that distinction than Mama KD, Wanda Pratt. This special PE colorway of the Nike Zoom KD IV is a tribute to Durant’s mother, set off by a Green, Yellow, and Silver colorway and a custom heel logo of Wanda’s initials shaped like a heart (also engraved into the very tip of the outsole) with a spiritual message reading like a banner above the logo. No word just yet if KD plans on wearing these in a game, but we’ll keep you posted when these make an in-game debut, so check out the images below and let us know what you think. via everythingkd35

Last night Sneaker News showed you LeBron’s ‘Miami Floridians’ PE of the LeBron 9 that he wore to match the Heat’s throwback uniforms. While we were indeed awestruck at the new colorway, there was plenty of other on-court NBA Feet heat to take notice of! But before we get onto the sneakers, special notice must go to Kobe’s black protective mask, which made him look like more of a masked crusader than a Black Mamba, although his winning streak with the mask came to end. Staying on the topic of Kobes, Paul George wore his Pacers-specific iD while Demar DeRozan went tonal with an all-white Kobe VII iD. Kevin Durant sported a new PE colorway of the Nike Zoom KD IV which featured a thunderous mix of white, photo blue, and team orange. Chris Paul rocked a sick Baby Blue/Red PE of the CP3.V that had some visual flair thanks to the Anodized finish on the upper. Kevin Durant will rep OKC hard for the next few years, signing a five-year contract extension during the Summer of 2010 that would make him the cornerstone player for the franchise through the 2015-16 NBA Season. With that said, we can expect a ton of great colorways of the Nike Zoom KD line that features this team-specific colorway of Team Orange, Photo Blue and White, splashed in an ‘Alternate’ style of a team decorum with the punchy orange taking center stage. Paired with the white strap and grey midsole, this pure Thunder colorway does capture that Summer-time system of dress, making this upcoming release (likely an April) a sure-fire hit once it becomes available. The NBA got back to business after the All-Star Weekend, with games resuming this past Tuesday. Ray Allen kicked things off by wearing his Air Jordan XIII PE in the ‘Away’ Black/Green, but he wasn’t responsible for the only new Air Jordan sighting as Jared Jeffries of the New York Knicks wore the Air Jordan VIII in the White/Orange Blaze colorway. Kobe Bryant, now temporarily the ‘Masked’ Mamba, led the Lakers to victory wearing his Kobe VII ‘Concord’, while All-Star Game MVP Kevin Durant took the Thunder to two straight wins. Other notables included Jordan Crawford and his Air Jordan VII ‘Cardinal’ and Huarache Free Bball 2012, Solomon Jones’ Air Jordan 6-17-23 in the ‘College Blue’, Jeremy Lin in the Hyperdunk 2011 Low PE, and Chris Paul in a new Royal/White CP3.V.
