KEVIN DURANT

Kevin Durant, aka KD and ‘Durantula’, is the youngest of the three Nike Basketball signature athletes. His Zoom KD signature line is designed by Nike designer Leo Chang; the Zoom KD is most recognized for its low price-point – a product detail specified by Kevin himself. Kevin is currently the star player of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and has won three consecutive NBA Scoring Titles from 2010 to 2012.

Many of today’s NBA greats like to give props to their beginnings for helping shape their talents into superstardom. Kevin Durant, who could be regarded as one of the best players of all-time, is a former Texas Longhorn, and his impact in just one season of play is still felt today at the Frank Erwin Special Events Center. Last month, Sneaker News gave you a look at Kevin Durant’s tribute to his alma mater – the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Texas Longhorns’ PE; the Longhorns have already put them to use and will likely continue to do so in the postseason, but you can have your hand in the action too when the KD IV ‘Longhorns’ goes on sale at Nike retailers overseas on on March 1st, according to Nike Basketball Hong Kong. kevin durant wears fuelband 5 Kevin Durant Wears Nike+ FuelBand During 3 Point Contest

One of the Nike+ FuelBand’s state-of-the-art features is to set daily goals, and although there isn’t a ‘Win All-Star Game MVP’ option on the FuelBand, we know the number of points Kevin Durant accumulated on his Nike+ FuelBand went off the charts. Just how many points did Kevin Durant accumulate on his Nike+ FuelBand during the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend? He managed to get to the finals of the Foot Locker 3-point Contest, but stole the show at the end of the weekend by winning his first-ever All-Star Game MVP award after leading the Western Conference to a victory with 36 points, 7 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals which, by our calculations, would have computed to about a billion Nike+ Fuel points had he worn the band during the game. Check out Durant in action during the three-point contest with the Nike+ FuelBand, and let us know if you’ve copped the FuelBand!

2012 nba all star game NBA Feet: 2012 NBA All Star Game

The 2012 NBA All-Stars were ready for lift-off in Orlando as they left the crowd in a daze with spectacular dunks, unthinkable passes, and of course, a series of sneakers that left us startled and thoroughly impressed. Sneaker News has been keeping you up to date with all the 2012 All-Star kicks by showing you the official All-Star team photos and portraits and a preview of the ‘Galaxy’ PE’s, but there’s nothing better than to see them in action. Starting with the East, LeBron James showed off his radiant orange LeBron 9s, while teammate Dwyane Wade went with the Air Jordan 2012 with the royal blue bootie (switching to the Fly Wade 2 for the second half). Carmelo Anthony wore his All-Star PE of the Melo M8, while East starters and adidas Basketball pillars Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard showed off their neon orange PEs. Andre Iguodala’s Nike Zoom Hyperenforcer PE got a lot of attention (especially with his lefty windmill in the first half), and Rajon Rondo recorded the second All-Star on-feet moment of the Galaxy Foams. Both Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard switched up their PEs, going with the hot orange in the first half and changing up in the second to different Royal and Grey PEs.

Out West, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant provided waves of scoring while rocking their Nike Basketball signatures. Clippers star Chris Paul hooked up with teammate Blake Griffin on several occasions, flashing the CP3.V and Hyperdunk 2011 ‘Galaxy’ in the process. Russell Westbrook dunked his way into the spotlight with his golden ‘Galaxy’ PE of the Zoom Hyperenforcer, while Tony Parker and Steve Nash dished and swished with the Zoom Brave V and Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 Low. Kevin Love, the 3-point champion, brought Peak to the ASG with his 361-degrees PE. The game itself was filled with spectacular moments; the East came back from a huge deficit to take the game down to the last shot, while teammate Dwyane Wade recorded the third triple-double in All-Star Game history. Kobe Bryant got his nose bloodied for a short moment while becoming the highest-scoring All-Star in history, while Kevin Durant bloodied the entire East squad by pouring in 36 points and taking home the All-Star Game MVP award. All in all, the 2012 NBA All-Star Game was one of the best we’ve ever seen; great high-scoring action, exciting weekend events, pre-game and half-time performances, and of course, one of the best sneaker spreads ever to make it to an All-Star Game floor. Check out the entire 2012 NBA All-Star Game recap after the jump and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for more NBA Feet features as the 2012 NBA season approaches the second half. via ESPN/Yahoo

nba feet 2 13 12new NBA Feet: Weekend Recap 2/10 2/12

Did any NBA ballers partake in what might be the biggest sneaker release day ever? We did spot a bunch of players wearing the Air Jordan X ‘Old Royal’, but that was just the tip of the iceberg because this weekend might’ve been the most heat-filled week of the season. Jordan Crawford, who has quietly built a solid rep as a sneakerhead to look out for, wore the Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Metallic Red’, while new pick-up Reggie Williams of the Charlotte Bobcats wore the Nike Zoom KD IV ‘Year Of The Dragon’. Other heat included Paul George’s Jordan Spiz’ike ‘Bordeaux’, while Utah youngsters C.J. Miles and Enes Kanter jazzed it up with the Air Jordan XI ‘Concord’. Ray Allen wore the Air Jordan 2011 A-Flight, Chris Paul dazzled in a nice PE of the CP3.V, and Delonte West maintained the tempo with the Air Max Uptempo. Can’t end an NBA Feet without a Jeremy Lin mention, because he took down the Lakers and the T-Wolves with the Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011 Low. We’ve got a whole lot more for you below, so peep the best of the weekend after the jump and let us know who laced up the sickest kicks! via Yahoo!
