So what is Nike trying to tell us? Just a not-so-subtle reminder that Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players to ever hit the hardwood. With a black and white construction in an homage to Beethoven’s 88-keys, this flyknit pair shouldn’t make you feel too guilty about dropping $200.¬†Check out one last look after the click and see if you can secure your pair early on eBay.

We’ve seen some fairly eclectic influences for the Nike Kobe 9, but when in reference to another human being, whether it be Michael Jackson or even Michelangelo, they all have one thing in common – they were some of the most dominant people in their respective fields. It makes sense considering Kobe is one of the best players to lace up a signature sneaker on the hardwood, and so the brief tradition continues with the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low “Beethoven”. Featuring a white and black look connecting to the white and black piano keys, it’s no coincidence that the shoe’s number matches up with the pianist’s Symphony No. 9. Look out for this colorway to release this Saturday, August 16th, hit the click for more images courtesy of FootAction, and see if you can find this pair early on eBay.

The Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low “Beethoven” that was shown off in that initial Nike INC post will differ a little bit from the final retail version. The pair on display here looks to be the one that will show up in stores on 8/16, with the main difference being that the side Swooshes here are white rather than black. This shouldn’t catch you entirely by surprise – the last time we saw the shoes they had the same color setup for the branding. Check out this new pair of Kobe 9 Elite Lows after the break and tell us in the comments if you’re purchasing.

beethoven nike kobe 9 elite low A Quick Look at the Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low Beethoven

The Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low “Beethoven”, which will release on August 16th, is about as close as you’ll likely get to those HTM pairs if you already missed out on the them. Unlike the upcoming “Michael Jackson” colorway, these have a rather muted palette that wouldn’t look out of place in the Hiroshi/Tinker/Mark set. Hopefully they’ll be differentiated in terms of distribution though – we’re all hoping that these won’t be too tough to grab. Take another look at this upcoming Nike Kobe 9 Elite Low below and check back in on Sneaker News for more Kobe shoes.

Update: As mentioned by our readers, this Kobe 9 Elite Low Beethoven is slightly different than the pair depicted in the Nike INC post introducing the sneakers. Stay tuned for word on which pair will be the final retail version.
