There’s a sequel coming for the Nike Air Max Hyperposite, but like so many truly great shoes, some would argue there’s no need to change anything.  Portland’s LaMarcus Aldridge has been rocking Hyperposites for the better part of two seasons and his breakout performance in the opening round of this year’s NBA Playoffs suggests this shoe is anything but done.  ’L-Smooth’, as it says on the tongues of his PE colorways, has at least three new styles with graphic print eyestays at his disposal for what Trail Blazers fans hope will be their first taste of that sweet sixteenth victory.  Click in so you can see all three and let us know which of these LaMarcus Aldridge Hyperposites look best in your eyes.

LaMarcus Aldridge may be a Portland Trail Blazer, but he was born in Texas and he went to school in Texas, so there was pretty much no question who he would root for in the recetn Alamo Bowl matchup between Oregon and his alma mater. In fact, he was so sure of the latter that he made a wager with Trail Blazers basketball communications manager Collin Romer which involved the loser of the bet donning gear in support of the winning team. In the end the Ducks took it, which meant Aldridge was for a day made to parade around in this special Oregon colorway of the Nike Lunar Hypergamer Low. Let us know in the comments if you’ve ever been in a similar situation and stay tuned with us for more on Oregon Nike PEs.

Although there was a released version of the Nike Air Max Hyperposite “Area 72″, there’s no doubt that the PE made for Western Conference All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge was far better! The dark upper exudes that deep space landscape with hints of the Area 72 graphics lining the collar of the shoe, with a sick planet-surface style of Swoosh detailing on the heel and toe. These are definitely one of the highlights of the 2013 All-Star Game footwear, so check out an additional shot of the shoes and LaMarcus wearing them in-game, and let us know if you think more Hyperposite colorways should hit stores.

Nike Teams Up With St. Mary’s Home For Boys to Design Lamarcus Aldridge Playoff PE

lamarcus aldridge st marys design summary Nike Teams Up With St. Marys Home For Boys to Design Lamarcus Aldridge Playoff PE

Lamarcus Aldridge’s Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010 PE has been one of the highlights of NBA Feet for the 2011 Playoffs, but did you know it was designed by a group of youths? Earlier this year, Nike donated a unique opportunity – the chance to design a Lamarcus Aldridge Nike Basketball PE – to the Hoops And Heart Fundraiser. Who won the auction? Charlie Denson, who happens to be the president of Nike. He then donated the design experience to St. Mary’s Home For Boys, where four young men were given the once-in-a-lifetime session to work with Aldridge and Nike designer Kyle Yamaguchi to pick out the Home and Away colorways of the Nike Air Max Hyperdunk 2010 for Aldridge to wear in the Playoffs. The two designs feature the diamond graphic on the upper, with the Home featuring a metallic silver base and the Away using a black base. Check out the video of the entire process here as take a look at some in-game shots of the sneakers after the jump and let us know what you think.
