Le Coq Sportif pushes further with its comeback, bringing back a classic runner along with a few other familiar styles coming up soon. First and foremost, the Le Coq Sportif R1000 returns for the first time since the 1990 originals. OG white/grey/black neon colorway shows how far these style stretch back in time, while a tonal blue plus red style has a more colorful if slightly more conservative approach. Tennis legends like Rod Laver, Stan Smith, Andre Agassi and Roger Federer are all remembered for significant contributions to the world of tennis shoes thanks to a variety of new releases to this day. One might argue that Le Coq Sportif’s low-key treatment of Arthur Ashe’s signature lowtops befit the racquet champion’s famously subdued approach, but on the other hand, dude is one of the most under-appreciated sporting icons of the past fifty years.
