The 2013 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest may be the one that’s fresh in your memory, but there’s another one that’s been brewing for a little longer. That would be the Nike+ Basketball Dunk Showcase, which began last year at the World Basketball Festival. The contestants were eventually whittled down to two finalists: Rafal “Lipek” Lipinski and Justin “Jus Fly” Darlington. Looks like LeBron James decided to suit up in the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Infrared’ during one of his recent days off. Wait a minute-LeBron James takes days off? You wouldn’t know it by the insane level of play he’s maintaining over the past five or so games but apparently the King does find time to rest here and there. The Nike LeBron 9 has long since ended its retail lifecycle, but the sneaker continues to pop up in various unreleased editions that the public has never before caught wind of. LeBron himself recently donned one such pair, an orange and black version that is unfortunately pretty obscured by his pants in this sole shot. We’ve seen the LeBron X take on a wildly different personality with the ‘Cork’ release, exuding a level of luxury far greater than the sporty spirit of the regular releases of the X that have hit stores. During yesterday’s game against the Celtics, LeBron showed us even more of that luxurious flavor by wearing a sick black suede PE of the Nike LeBron X; the entire upper is clearly built by a suede upper, with a black/yellow speckled midsole, white outsole, and a red lining with a matching stitched swoosh. The DJ Clark Kent-designed Nike LeBron 9 Low ‘War Vet’ is a pair that not too many folks have as they never made it to retail. It should come as no surprise though that King James himself does indeed have at least one of the camo colored pairs in his rotation. Just a day after showing off the Oregon Ducks exclusive Nike Zoom Jet Turf ’97 on Instagram, we see St. Vincent-St. Mary’s most famous alum show up wearing them. LeBron James was on hand at the 43rd Annual Three Kings Day Parade in Miami over the weekend, where he rocked the UO Zoom Jet Turfs while teammate and fellow starting Eastern Conference All-Star Dwyane Wade wore the Li-Ning Way of Wade Low. The 2012-2013 season continues to be one for the ages for LeBron James as he becomes the youngest player in NBA history to score 20,000 points. While doing so, LeBron was fashioned with a nice Player Exclusive colorway of the Nike LeBron X with a black upper, a white outsole, and a shimmering silver Swoosh. By game’s end, LeBron James had amassed 20,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, and 5,000 assists, which certainly puts that Nike Zoom 20-5-5 model from years ago into perspective! Will LeBron hold onto this title forever, or will another high-scoring youngster like Kevin Durant steal that crown? Peep the gallery of LeBron James in his PE and let us know what you think.

Whenever LeBron James visits the Portland Blazers for a game, he’s always rocking some special PE heat. With the Nike World Headquarters just a stones throw away from PDX, it wouldn’t be so hard to hand-deliver a pair of PEs to LBJ, like the awesome Red/Black PE of the Nike LeBron X he rocked during yesterday’s loss against the hometown Blazer crew. Acting almost like a ‘reverse’ rendition of the Black/Red version that dropped not long ago, the tonal red upper is paired with black diamond-cut Hyperfuse vents, with a black midsole and clean white outsole finishing the look (a near-identical pair can be made on Nike iD).
