We previewed the Nike LeBron X Gold “Championship” PE earlier, but here’s a first look at LeBron James wearing the shoes during the season opener against the Boston Celtics. These Player Exclusives were made to commemorate LeBron’s first title win back in June, combining Gold (for the Championship Ring) with White/Red (the color of Miami’s uniforms at the time of the win). The first quarter is well underway for opening night between the Heat and Celtics, but during a commercial break, we got to see LeBron James in the all-new Samsung Galaxy Note II advertisement. We’re given an inside look into LeBron’s daily routine, from sharing breakfast with his kids and wide to getting a fresh cut from his local barber. It ends with LeBron suiting up for his first game of the season, lacing up in the Nike LeBron X ‘Gold Championship’ PE that he’s wearing right now. What a year it’s been for LeBron James. After earning a League MVP trophy, he added on his first-ever NBA Championship Trophy and an NBA Finals MVP Trophy, and topped it off with an Olympic Gold Medal in August. Tonight, LeBron aims to defend each and every one of those accomplishments (except for the Olympic Medal – that’ll wait ’til 2016) as the Miami Heat kicks off their 2012-13 season tonight against the Boston Celtics. You’ll see LeBron with even more hardware by the end of the night as the World Champ Miami Heat will receive their NBA Championship Rings in a pre-game ceremony. We’re slowly creeping up to the 2012-13 NBA Season, so what does that mean? The best NBA Feet coverage out there. If you’re an NBA Feet regular here on Sneaker News, you’ll know who’s wearing what and when they wore it. Starting things off is this great Weekend Recap of several games, including a nice match-up between the Heat and Clippers out in Shanghai. The Nike Zoom Hyperflight, designed by Eric Avar around the turn of the century, covers a lot more history than you think. Avar recalls a direct inspiration from Bill Bowerman himself who demanded the shoe be ‘lighter’, and so Avar went back to the drawing board and built the Hyperflight based on the design of a track spike. In addition to the design, the Hyperflight went against visual convention and toyed with a library of punchy, tonal colors in several materials like patent leather, perforated leather, and the funky alien-esque material. A shoe transported from the distant future, inspired by the distant past, available at the present – the Hyperflight was a undeniable mark of innovation and evolution of footwear design, and in 2013, Nike will bring back the Hyperflight in all its glory, placing at front and center the three individuals that have re-written Nike Basketball attitude in the 21st Century.

We’ve seen what the Nike LeBron X can do in black and red courtesy of the Heat away ‘Pressure’ colorup, but what happens if those colors are reversed? An already aggressive palette pushes the envelope with this high contrast makeup featuring no outlines or insets, just a ‘raging’ take on the Miami Heat’s color scheme. There’s just a hint of yellow too (or is that gold?) on the medial heel’s ‘X’ anniversary medallion that takes the place of the diamond ’6′, crown-and-sceptre, radioactive Dunkman and other unique identifiers we’ve seen on the King’s tenth Nike Basketball signature.
