After a highly-publicized launch event down in Miami, Supra is now ready to take their latest sneaker endeavor to the retail market as they launch the Supra Spectre line by Lil Wayne with the Chimera silhouette. Releasing in three colorways – Black/Red, Grey/Pink, and White/Red – Supra aims for that lifestyle/skate market with an enticing design that simply isn’t like anything out there. Reader response has been a mixed bag as expected, but with the limited release going down tomorrow, will those with praise respond accordingly? Find the debut release of the Lil Wayne x Supra Spectre collection tomorrow at select retailers such as Oneness, and let us know if you think Weezy has the chops to elbow his way into the sneaker game with his new signature line.

There was a time not too long ago when Lil Wayne would stay draped up in all sorts of red garments as a signifier of a, somewhat questionable, gang affiliation. He’s cooled it down a little bit these days, but still prefers red for his Js it appears. Tunechi was spotted enjoying his seats on the floor at a recent Warriors/Spurs playoff game with the Air Jordan IV “Fire Red Toro”. And yes, he’s got the hangtags attached. The first sneaker from Lil Wayne’s Spectre by Supra line releases this Saturday, May 18th. The Supra Chimera debuts in three colorways, two of which we detailed just a short while ago. That leaves this third style for you to choose from this weekend, a riff on the classic Chicago Bulls palette that makes the most of high contrast to emphasize the Chimera’s unique silhouette. The other two styles more prominently feature varying material textures while this one maximizes its vintage lean with a tumbled leather up top; check them out up close below and let us know which of these first three Chimeras is best.

May 18th is scheduled with a variety of new releases including the launch of Lil Wayne’s new Supra imprint. The Lil Wayne x Supra Chimera debut kickstarts the Spectre capsule this Saturday in three colorways. The Chimera is all about sweeping lines, the culmination of which is an elegant if nontraditional silhouette that’s especially dope in a mint-speckled pink-hit makeup. Lil Wayne’s SPECTRE line from Supra is almost here. That’s right, the rapper hasn’t been blessed with just one silhouette, but rather an entire label from the all-powerful skate shoe brand. The first one to arrive looks to be the Lil Wayne x Supra Chimera, a design that you can expect in-stores as soon as May 18th. Earlier today Sneaker News gave you a look at some upcoming colorways of the Supra Chimera designed by Lil Wayne as part of the budding Spectre by Supra line. The future of this interesting new line has a lot more to celebrate beyond the Chimera because Supra expects this new endeavor to flourish as it takes on the street/skate scene with full force. Supra held a special unveiling party in Miami on Friday night, with a load of notable names like Bun B, Stevie J, Don Cannon, Mack Maine, skaters Chaz Ortiz, Stevie Williams and Chad Muska, French rappers Booba and Gato and, of course, Lil Wayne and the new Chimera sneaker. Along with a special display for the Chimera and other upcoming shoes, indoor vert ramps were installed for the skaters to put the shoe into action, tattoo artist BJ Betts provided complimentary tattoos, and of course, there were loads and loads of women (it’s Miami, would you expect any less?). While Lil Wayne may have just lost one of his bigger sponsorship deals, Supra is still sticking with the rapper. In fact, they’ve proven that his wild lifestyle has their full support with the likes of the recent “Vice Pack”. Further support comes in the form of this, Wayne’s own silhouette from the brand known as the Supra Chimera.
