Nike dropping its partnership with Lance Armstrong set off a chain reaction whereby all but one of the (soon to be former) seven-time Tour de France champion’s top sponsors gave him the axe on Wednesday. Nike’s marketing prowess is unmatched, so when the Swoosh commits to LIVESTRONG and Lance’s namesake Foundation, we’re reminded that the fight against cancer is more important than all the bicycles in Europe. So as of this writing, Nike still plans to move forward with the 2013 LIVESTRONG collection, which boasts eight different footwear options including five of next year’s big new debuts. Joining the flagship LIVESTRONG x Nike Air Max+ 2013 will be the Air Max 95 Dynamic Flywire, LunarFly+ 4, LunarFlash+ and Zoom Vomero+ 9, joined by new styles for the Free 5.0+, Free Trainer 3.0 and 5.0. Click through for a look at each pair that includes our first ever viewing of the LunarFly 4, LunarFlash and Zoom Vomero 8 and stick with Sneaker News for all the happenings between now and these pairs’ Q2 drops.

Lance Armstrong retired from cycling in 2005 after capturing his seventh consecutive Tour de France title, but even though he hasn’t worn the yellow jersey for a period long enough to constitute an entirely new personality construct, the Nike LIVESTRONG capsule continues to win like the race was set in Pittsburgh. The latest Swoosh kicks to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s fight against cancer is this LIVESTRONG x Nike LunarGlide+ 4, the current LunarLon running flagship featuring Varsity Maize accents on a black base plus silver and white hits. The Dynamic Flywire in particular reminds us of how Wieden+Kennedy sparked a whole generation of gel bracelets, and you’ll find the LIVESTRONG LunarGlide 4s available at Finish Line.

It might be the newest and most technically advanced version of the former Air Max III Nike Sportswear has ever released, but this new style pictured above gets back to the roots of both the Air Max 90′s original styles and the original LAF palette. This new LIVESTRONG x Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse arrives in a familiar mix of white/greys/black plus a vibrant accent color, and instead of Infrared or Laser Blue, these get the Varsity Maize shade so often connected to the releases whose proceeds benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s fight against cancer. You can see these from just about every angle after the jump, then grab yours at retailers like Finish Line.

A Chrome Yellow and black Nike Air Max+ 2012 hit retailers about a month ago without any sort of connection to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, so what are Nike and LIVESTRONG working with as their base palette these days? Lance’s Tour de France-leading yellow is still present on the LAF tongue tag, but just as was the case with the LIVESTRONG Free Run 2 that dropped back in January, the focus on this pair is blue(s). These AM2012s mix Prism and Deep Royal blues for a watery mix that reminds us of Armstrong’s recent triathlon experiences (though fans of the sport will be quick to note that swimming and running are separated by Lance’s specialty). Check them out in greater detail below, then grab a pair of the LIVESTRONG Air Max+ 2012 from Finish Line.

Nike Sportswear released the Pre Montreal Racer in a large run of VNTG colorways right around the turn of the year, and although we haven’t seen any others since then, it does indeed appear that this retro run will continue into the latter part of the year. The LIVESTRONG x Nike Pre Montreal Racer pictured above marks the first time that this Lance Armstrong Foundation collabo capsule has done up a pre-Air Max-era classic runner. It’s greyed out with just a hint of yellow stitching on the black Swoosh for a style that echoes the subtle approach on those Vintage drops, and though they don’t carry the VNTG distinction, this pair does also feature a pre-yellowed midsole. It’s fairly subtle on this one and seems perfectly paired with the LIVESTRONG colorway; will you be looking for these when they arrive in Q3? Have a closer look after the jump and check out the auction from dballaholic on eBay.

In 1996, Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with cancer. A few years later, he embarked on a legendary run of seven-straight Tour de France titles. In what might be the greatest personal come-back in the history of sports life, Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France domination served as an inspirational tool to the millions suffering from cancer, but Armstrong had ‘support’ in his mind earlier, as he started the Lance Armstrong Foundation on January 8th, 1997. Nike has been a long-time supporter of the foundation and has committed itself to Lance as an athlete and an advocate, and today, they celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the Lance Armstrong foundation by releasing a limited edition set of apparel. the Nike Air Max 2012, Nike Trainer 1.3 Mid (not picture), Nike WMNS LunarFly+ 3, and Nike WMNS Free TR Fit 2 are featured as the highlight footwear pieces of this great collection, which should go on sale very soon.
