The regional aspect of the Reebok Question return has already been played up a fair amount, with Philly resident Questlove requesting a special custom pair to be made and Reebok themselves cooking up no shortage colorways tied to specific places where AI put in work during his basketball career. Apparently taking notice is Pittsburgh born rapper Mac Miller, recently lacing up in the sneaker in what has to be to some extent a tribute to Iverson’s role in the fine tradition of Pennsylvania sports. Click through with us for some photos of Mac’s outfit and let us know if you think the did the Reebok Question justice.

Right before the MTV VMA’s went down a pretty big blow was dealt to the potential sneaker scene at the show when Kanye West decided not to show up, which frankly might have been a wise move given his previous blow ups at such events. The rest of the folks present very much held things down though, with a pretty good range amongst the sightings. Frank Ocean continued to break out the classics with a pair of the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Supreme’ from yesteryear, Tyga showed off his upcoming Reebok collab, Lil Wayne skated in with his Supra’s, and oddball rapper Riff Raff laced up in the Nike Air Trainer Max 94. Click through with us to check out all these sneaker shots and more from the 2012 MTV VMA’s and let us know in the comments if you think the celeb set did a good job last night.

One of these things is not like the other. The latest iteration of the epic Rock the Bells hip-hop festival made its way to Mountain View, CA, over the weekend. As is to be expected when so many hip-hop heavyweights converge at one place in one time there was no shortage of on-feet sightings of all sorts. DMX showed up with an outfit channeling his days of yore, Timberlands and all. Fellow former Ruff Ryder Sheek Louch was also present, albeit with a more contemporary selection in the form of the recently released Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’. Comparative youngin’s Mac Miller and Kid Cudi rounded out the group in the Air Jordan VII ‘Bordeaux’ and the Air Jordan VIII ‘Aqua’. Stay with us after the jump for this photo recap and stick with Sneaker News should more shots pop up featuring sneaker sightings from Rock the Bells.

One would be rather cautious when wearing a pair of kicks that are hard to come by, but Pittsburgh native Mac Miller didn’t think twice about being a extra active during his show last night at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom. He wore the Galaxy Foamposites with one of his outfits, heartily scuffing the toe-boxes of his delicate kicks and deeming them dead on sight (he bids farewell with an ‘RIP’). After letting the Twitter-world know about the condition of his Galaxy Foamposites, he went ahead and copped a crisp new pair, and with his current stay being in NYC, it’s possible he ‘re-upped’ at Flight Club. Did Mac Miller move around in such an aggressive manner that he would cause that much damage to his shoe, or is the graphic print on the upper that sensitive to the touch? If a sneaker needs to be so delicately handled, is it really worth the $1,200-$1,500 for a pair? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Pittsburgh’s Rostrum Records has emerged as one of the independent music scene’s major players thanks to chart topping hits from Wiz Khalifa and most recently the #1 debut for Mac Miller‘s Blue Slide Park debut LP. That’s a feat that hasn’t been matched in over fifteen years, and Mac commemorated the occasion with a pair of feet unlikely to be matched, ever. The Nike Air Max 90 ‘Blue Slide Park’ takes its colorway from the triangular artwork Miller’s brother contributed alongside a blue brush stroke that gives this pair its vibrant underlay. Sneaker customizer FRSH Footwear absolutely nailed the range of earthy shades as applied to the Ninety’s ridged sections; are these instantly the best album-inspired customs we’v ever seen?
